A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF FUNDING REQUEST
FORM TO THE DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION'S
DIVISION OF RECYCLING.
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California Beverage
Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act that provides funds to cities and counties for
beverage container recycling and litter cleanup activities; and
WHEREAS; the California Department of Conservation's Division of Recycling has been
delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the State, setting up
necessary procedures for cities and counties or their designees under the program; and
WHEREAS, the City ofAzusahas developed a program proposal that will recycle beverage
containers, abate litter compared to previous drop off recycling programs, and will provide a means
for schools and non-profit organizations to raise funds for charities.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Council authorizes the submittal of the Funding Request Form to the
Department of Conservation's Division of Recycling.
2. That the City Council authorizes and empowers the Integrated Waste Management
Coordinator to execute in the name of the City of Azusa all necessary forms hereto
for the purpose of securing payments and to implement and carry out the purposes
specified in Section 145 81 (a)(4)(A) ofthe California Beverage Container Recycling
and Litter Reduction Act and provide information regarding this program to the

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly passed by the City Council of
the City of Azusa at a regular meeting thereof on the 20th day of March 2000, by the following vote
of the City Council:
