M. 485 The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper, Roll call. Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens, City Attorney Miller and City Clerk. Each member present having acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of September 16th and the adjourned meeting of September 23rd, the Mayor asked if there were'any object- ions or corrections to. said minutes. There Minutes approved. ' being none, the minutes of -the regular meeting of September 16th and the adjourned meeting of September 23rd were.unaniatously approved as written. An application for a State liquor license, made by Manuel Carlos, -was read. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Protest application Councilman Arnold that the City protest the for liquor license. issuance of- a liquor license to Mr. Carlos as his place of business is.located within 300 feet of a public school and approximately the same distance from a church and in the opinion of the Council would be against the general welfare of this community. Carried by the following vote of the Councils Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absents None. Mr. Ray Lamm requested use of the Auditorium Use of Auditorium for a Boy Scout Court of Honor on October granted, Boy Scouts ' 29, 1940. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Councilman Jumper and duly carried same be granted. A communication from the Secretary of the Re -zoning referred local Planning Commission relative to the to City Attorney. fe-zoning of property located near the Disposal Plant, was read. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Bradshaw this matter be referred to the City Attorney to report back at the ' next regular meeting of the Council. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: None. A communication from C. T. M. Mr. Harry S. Whitman appeared before the Council relative to the contract between the City of Azusa and the Associated Assessment Engineers. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Coun- cilman Jumper that Mr. Munson be instructed to sigmas City Tax Collector,the form letter prepared by the Associated Assessment Engineers to be sent out to delinquent property owners. The stationery to be ordered by Mr. Munson and ' charged to the Assessment -Engineers. . Carried by the following vote of the Council: ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: None. The Council discussed with the Chief of Police the control of Sunday traffic, also the Street Lights on Foothill Boulevard. The matter of posting dangerous dips on Crescent Drive, 6th and 10th Streets, was presented by City Attorney Miller. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Bradshaw the following -.requisitions be allowed:, 940-950, 977-981. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: None. Tax Collector authorized to sign form letters. Traffic control and Street Lights discussed. Posting of danger- ous dips in streets considered. Requsitions. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Coun- cilman Bradshaw the following bills be allowed ' and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury Bills. for the same.
