Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens, City Attorney Miller and City Clerk. Each member present having acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of October 71, 19409 the Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said ' minutes. There being none, the minutes of the regular meeting of October 7, 1940 were.unani- mously approved as written. Roll call. Minutes approved. A communication from Cornelius Smith, Secretary Parking Ordinance of the Azusa Chamber of Commerce, relative to the to be enforced. local merchants' disregard for the two hour park- ing Ordinance, was read. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Council- man Bradshaw this matter be referred to the Police Department and the Chief of Police be notified to enforce this law. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: None. A notice relative to charges made by the Pomona Police Department for service rendered to radio equipped motorized units in the City of Azusa, was read. No action taken. Communication from Pomona Police Dept, Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Arnold this matter be referred to the City Attorney to report back. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Uwens. Noes: None. Absent* None. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Malone the City Clerk be authorized to instruct Mr. Muehe to renew the Fire Insurance Policy on the Public Library for a period of three years. Carried by the following vote of the Council: ' Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: None. Cdr. Muehe addressed the Council relative to a Blanket Policy of Insurance covering the City's responsibility. The Mayor appointed the City Uouncil as a Committee of the Whole to take the matter under consideration and report back at the next regular meeting. Fire Insurance Policy renewed. Mayor Owens offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO CHANGE AND REQ ESTABLISH THE GRADES OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF RESOLUTION NO. FOOTHILL BOULEVARD AND VIRGINIA AVENUE WITHIN 1683 adopted. ' SAID CITY. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Council- man Malone that this,Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1683. Carried by the following vote of the Councils Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noess None. Absent: None. Councilman Arnold offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RESOLUTION NO. AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING 1684 adopted. RESOLUTION NUMBER 1595. Moved by Councilman Malone., seconded by Council- man Jumper this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1684. Carried by the following vote of the Council -.- Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: None. Superintendent of Light and Power, Virgil Smith, addressed the Council on the matter of installa- tion of electric ranges and the repeal of Reso- lution No, 1374. It was,unanimously agreed that the Council take the matter under consideration and report back at the next regular meeting.
