Present at roll catl: Councilmen: Jumper, Roll call. Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens, City Attorney Miller and City Clerk. Each member present having acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of October 21, 1940, the Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to ' said minutes. There being none, the minutes of Minutes approved. the regular meeting of October 21, 1940 were unanimously approved as written. A note of appreciation from Mrs. Sinnie was read and ordered placed on file. Correspondence read and ordered Communications from The American Rubber Manu- placed on file. facturing Company and the Board of Supervisors were read and ordered placed''on file. A communication from State Administrator, M. M. Carlos Liquor Control Division, A. A. Whitaker, re- application for lative to application made by Manuel M. Carlos liquor license for alcoholic beverage license, advising the denied. Council that same has been denied, was read and ordered placed on file. Rev. Moses Breese requested the City assist in Rev. Breese's grading the lot just south of the Presbyterian request referred Church. to Board of Public Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Works. Councilman Jumper this matter be referred to the Chairman of the Board of Public Works, with power to act. ' Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens, Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Arnold offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RESOLUTION NO. AZUSA DIRECTING THE RECORDING OF JUDGMENT IN 1685 adopted. FAVOR OF SAID CITY AND AGAINST FRANZ C. RICHTER ALSO KNOVN AS FRANZ RICHTER. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Malone that this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1685. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: None. A communication signed by Cornelius Smith, Communication Secretary of the local Planning Commission, relative to re - relative to re -zoning property adjoining the zoning read and Disposal Plant site, was read, placed on file. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Coun- cilman Malone that same be placed on file. Councilman Arnold offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RESOLUTION NO. AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, RESCINDING, 1686 adopted. REVOKING AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NUMBER -1374. Moved by Councilman Jumper., seconded by Coun- cilman Bradshaw this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1686. ?MAIV 3 MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL MEETING. NOVEMBER 4, 1940. 7:30 P. M. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Jumper reported on the proposed Reports. reduction of energy rates; Councilman Bradshaw on preparation for Armistice Day Celebration; Councilman Arnold on tree planting and the easement on First Street. ' The Superintendent of Light and Water, Virgil Smith, reported on the preparation for Christmas decorations and the sampling of water wells. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Coun- cilman Arnold the following requisitions be allowed: 987 to 995, 1006, 1007. Requisitions. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens, Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Arnold the following bills be allowed and Bills. warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same. Carried by the following vote of the Council Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper,'Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: None.
