Due to lack of a quorum the regular meeting of the Azusa City Council was adjourned to meet on Tuesday, April 8, 1941 at 7:30 P.M. CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. APRIL 8, 1941. 7;30 P.M. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular adjourned session at the above time and place. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Council- man Jumper this matter be referred to the Chief of Police, with power to act. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. 'Absent: None. Communications from Mrs. Kinney and Mrs. Ford Communications were read and ordered placed on file. filed. A communication presented by the Southern Counties Communication Gas Company of California -advising the Council from Gas Co. that during installation of sewer mains on Valton referred to City Avenue the City shovel pulled out of coupling a 2" Attorney and gas main owned and maintained by said Company, Engineer. was discussed. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Coun- cilman Malone this matter be referred to the City Engineer and City Attorney. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper, Roll call. Each member present having acknowledged receipt of Minutes approved a written copy of the minutes of the regular meet- ing of March 17, 1941, the Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of the regular meet- ing of March 17, 1941 were unanimously approved as written. A report, on the application of the Four Square Four Square Gospel Church to erect a building just north of Gospel Church Foothill Boulevard on yalton Avenue, made by the request denied. Secretary of the Planning Commission, was read. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Council- man Malone that Council accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission and the application be denied. A communication from the Clerk of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors relative to the allocation of funds for the repair of streets torn up by installation of a sewer system, was read and ordered placed on file. A report, made by Cornelius Smith, Secretary of the local Planning Commission, relative to the application of Louis Zatinsky to erect a wrecking yard on the south side of West Foothill Boulevard, containing certain requirements and recommenda- tions, was read. ' Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council- ' man Jumper that Council grant application to Mr. Zatinsky after the Clerk has received letters from Mr. Muehe and Mr. Zatinsky agreeing to carry out the conditions set forth by the Planning Commission. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Malone offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGRIdSS COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A RIGHT OF WAY AGREEMENT FROM STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA, A CORPORATION, TO THE CITY OF AZUSA, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE SAID AGREE- MENT AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST SAME. • • 7:30 P.M. Councilman Malone offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA URGING THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO ALLOCATE TO THE CITY OF AZUSA THE AMOUNT OF $70145. IN THE 1941-42 BUDGET OF THE SPECIAL ROAD IMPROVEMENT FUND AND THE COUNTY GUOD RUADS FUND.
