The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper,
Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, uwens and City Clerk.
Absent: City Attorney Tscharner.

7:30 P.M.
Each member present having acknowledged receipt
of a written copy of the minutes of the regular
meeting of April 8th, 1941, the Mayor asked if
there were any objections or corrections to said
minutes. There being none, the minutes of the
regular meeting of April 8th, 1941 were unanimously
approved as written.
Miss Daum addressed the Council requesting an add
for the Citrus Annual.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Council-
man Bradshaw the Mayor and City Clerk be authori-
zed to sign a check in the amount of $18. made
payable to Citrus Union High School for the City
of Azusa add in said Annual.
Carried by the follord.ng vote of the Council:
Ayes; Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
A communication relative to puncture vine control,
was read.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Arnold this matter be referred to the Board
of Public v:orks.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilman: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Cards expressing appreciation from Mr. P,. C.
Bradshaw and his family, also Mrs. Wade and her
family, were read and ordered placed on file.
An application for employment was offered by
Dorothy Kugler Weil.
Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Coun-
cilman Arnold and duly carried the City Clerk be
Instructed to write Mrs. Weil advising her there
are no vacancies in the City offices at the pre-
sent time.
Councilman Bradshaw offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZIISA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 1703 ENTITLE D "A
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZIISA DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC NECESSITY AND
CUNVENIENClS,RE(4UIRE THAT FOURTH STREET AND FIRST
STREET WITHIN SAID CITY BE IMPROVED FROM FUNDS
ALLOCATED BY LOS ANGELi;S COUNTY OUT OF ITS SHARP:
OF MONEYS CULLRCTED FROM THE LEVY OF TAXES ON
MOTOR VEHICLE FUEL AND DISTRIBUTED TO SAID COUNTY
BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR THE 1940-1941
FISCAL YEAR.
Moved by Councilmsd Malone, seconded by Council-
man Arnold this Resolution be adopted as read
and numbered Resolution No. 1713.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilman: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman Jumper reported on a meeting of the
League of California Cities held at Long Beach.
Mr. Jensen appeared before Council to give notice
of change of address.

MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL MEETING. APRIL 21, 1941. 7:30 P. M.
Superintendent of Light and Water Departments
reported that Miss Wagner wanted the school
grounds lighted one night a week for Mexican
activity and Tony Nord objected to the street
light in front of his place of business.
He also reported the Mexican Baseball Associa-
tion wanted the City to donate energy for their
public address system.
It was unanimously agreed to grant Miss Wagner
the lights for baseball practice.
No action taken on Mr. Nord's request.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Arnold the City grant temporary service for
Mexican baseball games at the corner of Lemon
Avenue and Fifth Street.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Arnold the matter of renting one of the
Heddock Company shovels be referred to the
Superintendent of Light and Water.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Malone the following requisitions be
allowed:- 1140-1146, 1180-1186.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Coun-
cilman Malone the following bills be allowed
and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury
for the same.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None, Absent: None.
