CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. MAY 190 1941. 7:30 P. M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen;- Jumper,
Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Uwens, City Attorney
Techarner and City Clerk.
Each member present having acknowledged receipt
of a written copy of the minutes of the regular
meeting of May 5, 1941, the Mayor asked if there
were any objections or corrections to said minutes.
' There being none, the minutes of the regular meet-
ing of May 5, 1941 were unanimously approved as
written.
A communication, offered by the Secretary of the
Planning Commission, recommending that the re-
quest made by Manuel M. Carlos to place a gas
tank near his home, be denied.
Moved by Councilmen Arnold, seconded by Council-
man Malone the recommendation of the Planning
Commission be accepted and Mr. Carlos' request
denied.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council-
man Jumper this Ordinance be adopted as read
and numbered Ordinance No, 559.

Communications from J. C. Muehe, Congressman
Bashore and Senator Kenny were read and ordered
placed on file.
Mayor Owens, with the approval of the Council,
appointed Councilman Bradshaw to act as Chair-
man of the Flag week Committee.
Councilman Bradshaw accepted the appointment.
A communication from Alice Burke, Secretary for
the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors,
relative to Budget Brief of the County Road
Department, was read and ordered placed on file.
A complaint registered by Mr. H. n. Anderson of
1207 W. 64th St., Los Angeles, regarding vacant
lots where dirt and rocks have been unloaded by
the City Street Department, was read.
Moved and carried this matter be referred to
the Street Superintendent and Chairman of Board
of Public works, with power to act.
Councilman Bradshaw offered an Ordinance entitled:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, IAS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, I)ESIGNAT-
ING THE NAME BY WHICH A CERTAIN PUBLIC STREET
SHALL BE KNOWN AND CALLED, WITHIN SAID CITY.
to be placed upon its second reading.
The title of this Ordinance was then read.

cilman Jumper the Council waive the further
reading of this Ordinance.
