CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. JUNE z, 1941. 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper,
Malone, Bradshaw., Arnola, uwens, City Attorney
Tscharner and City Clerk.
Each member present having acknowledged receipt
of a written copy of the minutes of the regular
meeting of May 19, 1941, the Mayor asked if there
were any objections or corrections to said minutes.
There being none, the minutes of the regular meet-
ing of May 19, 1941 were unanimously approved as
written.

A report signed by Mr. Muehe relative to the claim Communication
of Tony Alvarez against the City under Special ordered placed
Liability Insurance Policy, was read and oraerea on file.

An invitation to attend an open night at the Elk's Communication
Lodge in Monrovia was read and oraerea placea on ordered placed
file. on file.
Movea by Councilman Arnold, seconaea by Council-
man Jumper the Mayor and City Clerk be authori-
zed and instructed to sign a contract between
the City of Azusa ana the Los Angeles County
Health Department for health services during the
year 1941-41.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, uwens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
A letter and statement, offerea by the Associa-
tea Telephone Company, were presenteu.
Movea by Councilmen Malone, seconded by Coun-
cilman Bradshaw this matter be referred to Mr.
Muehe.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
A letter from Mr. E. J. Trezise relative to the
erection of a tool shed, was read.
Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council-
man Jumper this matter be referred to the Plan-
ning Commission, with power to act.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
A request to sell beer on July 6, 1941, was
offered by Lupe Homo, Secretary for the Logia
"Libertad" Num. 175.
' Movea by Councilman Arnold, secondea by Council-
man Malone the matter be referred to the Chief
of Police, with power to act.

The matter of suitable paint for the Tennis
Courts was discussed.

Purchasing Committer, and Street Superintendent,
with power to act.

THIS COMMUNITY.
Movea by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Coun-
cilman Malone this Resolution be adopted as
read and numbered Resolution No. 1717.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Arnold, Owens.

Councilman Bradshaw offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THX(;ITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING
A RIGHT OF WAY AGREEMENT FROM STANDARD OIL COMPANY
' OF CALIFORNIA, A CORPORATION, TO THE 01TY OF AZUSA,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE SAID AGREE-
MENT AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST SAME.
Movea by Councilman Arnold, secondea by Council-
man Jumper this Resolution be adopted as read and
numbered Resolution No. 1718.

Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Mr. Nord addressed the Council requesting per-
mission to erect a Shine Stand on City property.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by uoun-
oilman Malone this matter be referred to the
Planning Commission to report back.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman Jumper offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
' AZUSA REQUESTING THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC
WORKS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA APPRuVE ANGELENu
AVENUE, SAN GABRIEL AVENUE, AL9,!EDA AVENUE, DAL-
TON AVENUE, AND SOLDANO AVENUE WITHIN SAID CITY
AS "STREETS OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE."

Councilman Arnold offered an Ordinance entitled:
AN URLINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, rRUHIBITING rERSUNS UNDER 17 YEARS OF AGE
FROM BEING ON THE PUBLIC STREETS, ALLEYS AND PUB-
LIC PLACES IN THE CITY OF AZUSA AT NIGHT AFTER
THE HOUR OF 9 O'CLUCK Y.M. AND PROHIBITING THE
LOITERING OF PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 17 YEARS
AND PRESCRIBING THE PENALTIES Fuh THE V1uLAT1UN
OF THIS ORDINANCE.

Councilman Jumper reported on the League meeting
held at U. S. C.
Councilman Malone reported on a request to re-
surface the baseball diamond.
Councilmai Bradshaw reported on the Flag Day
Committee.
Councilman Arnold reported on Mr. Winokur's
request.
City Attorney Tscharner reportect that he had
amendea one paragraph in his letter of April 15,
1941 to the Glendora Independent Water Company,
relative to the installation of a dual chlori-
nation system and disposition of effluent from
the Azusa Sewage Treatment Plant, and offerea a
copy of his letter of May 29, 1941 to be placed
on file.
Chief of Police Williams reported that he had
given Mrs. Rush an extension of 30 days in the
' time alloted her to collect aog licenses.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Bradshaw the following requisitions be
allowed: 1202, 1251 - 1259.
Carrie a by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilmai Jumper, seconded by Coun-
cilman Bradshaw the following bills be allowea
ana warrants oraered drawn upon the Treasury
for the same.
