The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
Special Session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens, City.Attorney Tacharner. and City
Clerk.
Absents Councilmen0 Jumper and Malone.
The Notice of Special Meeting and the Officer's
Report were read as.followas
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE_.that_.a Special Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Azusa, State of.California,_IS.HEREBY CALLED to be
held in the Counoi l.Ghambera of said..City on Saturday,, June 7, 1941
at 60,0 A.M. for.the purpose.of oonaidering.the question of National
Defense and to consider the advisability of an Ordinance on that
subject and,for such..other_matters as. may legally-comebefore the
Council.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA CREATING A LOCAL DEFENSE
COUNCIL AND PRESCRIBING ITS DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES.
to be placed upon its first reading.
This Ordinance was then read for the first
time.
Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by
Councilman Arnold and duly carried the
Council adjourn.

Each member praamt .having._ acknowleiiged -receipt
of a written -copy of the minutes. -of. the regular
meeting of June 2, 1941 and the Special Session
of June 90 1941s the Mayor asked if there were
any objections or corrections to said minutes.
There being none, the -minutes of the regular
meeting of June 2, 1941'and the Special Session
of June 90 1941 were unanimously approved as
written.
Mr. Biddell addressed Council relative to the
treatment of water -in the local swimming pool.
No action taken.

The City Clerk announced that she had received

oilman Malone that bids be now opened, examined
and publicly declared.

Council feel is due him in connection with the
collection of dog tax during the year 1940;
if the check is again returned the C]e rk is
hereby instructed to hold same for Mr. Chester
subject to his call and to so advise him.

Ott, Neal Van Sooy, Archie Morden, Leo Ebersold, Defense Council.

oilman Malone Council.approve the Mayor's action.

cilman Bradshaw that Councilman Malone be
authorized and instructed to sign .the contract
between the City of Azusa and the Orange Belt
Fruit Distributor -a-, Inc. for the sale of City
oranges.
