This Ordinance was then read for the first time. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Councilman Arnold and duly carried the Council adjourn. Each member praamt .having._ acknowleiiged -receipt of a written -copy of the minutes. -of. the regular meeting of June 2, 1941 and the Special Session of June 90 1941s the Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the -minutes of the regular meeting of June 2, 1941'and the Special Session of June 90 1941 were unanimously approved as written. Mr. Biddell addressed Council relative to the treatment of water -in the local swimming pool. No action taken. Roll call. Minutes approved. Mr. Biddell addressed Coun- cil. Mr. Fred D. ,chofield addressed Council relative Mr. Schofield to the purchase of a Goodner Resuscitator. addressed Council. No action taken. The City Clerk announced that she had received two bids in answer to the Notice calling for bids on the collection of refuse, for .one year. Moved by.Councilmm Jumper, seconded by Coun- oilman Malone that bids be now opened, examined and publicly declared. Mr. Smith, Secretary of the local Planning Communication Commission, presented a request made by Mr. presented by Alonza Carter to build an addition.to his Secretary of the residence at #541 Pasadena Avenue. IND PROHIBIT- ING THIS LOITERING OF PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 17 YEARS AND PRESCRIBING THE PENALTIP;S FOR THIS ' VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. to be placed upon its aecond_reading. Howard Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Coun- cilmen Malone the City Clerk be instructed to return to Mr. Chester, City of Azusa check number 6012 in the amount of $1.50 which the Council feel is due him in connection with the collection of dog tax during the year 1940; if the check is again returned the C]e rk is hereby instructed to hold same for Mr. Chester subject to his call and to so advise him. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Coun- Tony Nord granted cilman Malone the City Clerk,be instructed to permission to inform Tony Nord that Council approved the erect Shoe Shine report of the Planning Commission -on his Stand. application to erect.an awning,or.enclosure for a Shoe Shine Stand on the south side -of his building at the corner of Azusa and Santa Fe Avenues and that Mr. Nord be advised of the conditions contained -and set forth in the re- port of the Planning Commission dated June 4, 1941. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Coun- cilman Bradshaw that Councilman Malone be authorized and instructed to sign .the contract between the City of Azusa and the Orange Belt Fruit Distributor -a-, Inc. for the sale of City oranges.
