CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. AUGUST 40 1941. 7:30 P. M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper, Roll call.
Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens, City Attorney
Tscharner and City Clerk.
Each member present having acknowledged receipt Minutes
of a written copy of the minutes of the regular approved.
meeting of July 21, 19412 the Mayor asked if
there were any objections or corrections to said
' minutes. There being none, the minutes of the
regular meeting of July 21, 1941 were unanimously
approved as written.
The Clerk announced that she had received 2 Bids- Bids.
in answer to Notice calling for Bids on
300 KVA Capacitors.
Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Coun-
cilman Malone the Bids be now opened, examined
and publicly declared.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone,' Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY
Item #1 24- Single phase, outdoor, pole type Capacitor Units,
Cat. 13F62, each rated 15 kva.., 2400 volts, single
phase, 60 cycles, (12.5 kva. at 2400 volts 50 cyclep).
These units will be suitable for circuits rated up
to 4160 volts grounded Y.

on a quantity of twenty four cutouts on one order. Should twenty-
five or more cutouts be included on one order, the net price each

units, rated 15 kv-a. each at 60 cycles or 12.5 kv-a.
each at 50 cycles, 2400 volts, single phase, outdoor
pole mounting type, suitable for circuits rated up to
4160 volts grounded Y and also suitable for a maximum
permissible working voltage of 2640 volts delta or
4574 volts grounded Y. all units to deliver not less
' than rated kv-a. at rated voltage and frequency and
in all respects to be in line with your specifica-
tions.

MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD AUGUST 4, 1941. 7:30 P. M.
Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Coun-
cilman Jumper the Bids be referred to the Super-
intendent of Light and Power for checking and
report back at the next regular meeting of the
Council.
Moved by Councilman Malone, sdconded by Coun-
cilman Jumper this motion be rescinded.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Coun-
cilman Bradshaw all Bids be rejected and the City
Clerk instructed to return checks submitted with
Bids.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Council-
man Bradshaw the purchase of capacitors be re-
ferred to the Chairman of the Board of Public
Works, the Chairman of Purchasing and the Super-
intendent of Light and Power, with power to act.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Roger Dalton addressed the Council relative to
a Mexican Celebration to be held on September
15 and 16, 1941.
' Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Council-
man Malone the Chief of Police be instructed to
issue the necessary permits granting the people
of the Mexican Colony the privileges requested
for this celebration.
Carried by'the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Mr. Hutchison, Junior College Coach, addressed
the Council relative to housing one Junior College
Student in the Fire Hall for the coming school
term.
Mayor Owens assured Mr. Hutchison that the matter
would be taken under advisement.
Mr. Everett Morgan addressed the Council relative
to cutting the curb on Azusa Avenue north of the
Alpha Beta store.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Council-
man Malone this matter be referred to the Street
Superintendent.
' Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Mr. Morgan also requested permission to erect an
incinerator on the vacant lot north of the store.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Arnold this matter be referred to the Planning
Commission.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Dr. Sandoval addressed the Council relative to
the Mexican Celebra tion.

Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council-
man Arnold the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized
and instructed to sign a PIPE LINE LICENSE between
the City of Azusa and The Atchison, Topeka and
Santa Fe Railway Company if and when said License
is approved by the Local Director of the WPA
Federal Works Agency.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Arnold, Owens.
Noes: Councilman Bradshaw.
Absent: None.
