Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Owens, City Attorney Miller and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Each member having acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meet- ing of September 15th and the adjourned session ' of September 22, 1941, the Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said min- utes. There being none, the minutes of the regular meeting of September 15th and the ad- journed session of September 22, 1941 were unanimously approved as written. Councilman Malone offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPOINT- ING P. J. TSCHARNER AND ALBERT H. MILLER AS CITY ATTORNEYS OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, AND FIXING THEIR SALARIES. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Bradshaw this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1732. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Roll call. Minutes approved. RESOLUTION NO. 1732 adopted. Councilman Bradshaw offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ' AZUSA RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 1730 AND AUTHORI- RESOLUTION NO. ZING THE CITY TO DELIVER CITRUS FRUIT GROWN ON 1733 adopted. CITY PROPERTY TO THE AZUSA CITRUS ASSOCIATION. Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council- man Jumper this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1733. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,Owens. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Mrs. Dodge reported the cans and garbage were not collected on Paramount Avenue, also a street light was necessary on the corner of Azusa and Paramount Avenues. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Coun- cilman Malone this matter be referred to the Street Superintendent and Superintendent of Light and Power. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Tumper.Malono,Bradshaw,Owens. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Complaint re- ferred to Street Supt. & Supt. of Light & Power. ' Notification of Alcoholic Beverage License Application to the State Board of Equalization, No action taken made by Robert E. Clements and John N. Randolph, on application. was presented. No action taken. Application for a business license, made by Robert E. Clements and J. N. Randolph, was offered. Moved and carried the License Collector be instructed to issue same. Councilman Jumper offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, TRANS- FERRING THE SUM OF FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5000. FROM VARIOUS FUNDS TO THE SEWER CONSTRUCTION FUND #2. License Collector instructed to issue Business License. RESOLUTION NO. 1734 adopted. MINUTES OP CITY COUNCIL MEETING. -OCTOBER 60, 1941. 7:30 P.M. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Coun- cilman Malone this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1734.• Carried by the following vote Sf the Council:! Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council- man Bradshaw the Mayor and City Clerk be authori- zed and instructed to sign demands in the amount ' of $100. each, made to the members of the City Council, the City Attorney and City Clerk to defray the expense of attending the League -of California Cities Convention to be held at Sacramento October 13, 14.,, 15p 16, 1941. Carried by the following vote of the Council:' Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper,Malone,Bradshaw,Owens. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Arnold. Mr. Winokur appeared before Council to make application for a permit to erect a garage on his property near the corner of Foothill Boule- vard and Alameda Avenue. C Councilman Arnold entered the meeting and took his seat at the Council table. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Bradshaw the following requisitions be allowed: 1236-1240, 1301-1307. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone,Bradshaw,Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Coun- cilman Bradshaw the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same. Carded by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: None. 183 Authorization of Convention ex- pense for Coun- cilmen & City Attorney. Mr. Winokur's request referred to the Planning Commission. Mr. Madin's re- quest for a zon- ing variance re- ferred to Planning Commis - ion. City Clerk in- struced to write P. T. A. Requisitions. Bills. Moved and carried that same be referred to the Planning Commission. 2228 Mr. A. P. Madin requested a variance in the Zoning Pumps Ordinance in order to locate on lower San Gabriel 2229 Avenue for the purpose of rearing thorough -bred Labor dogs. 2230 Moved and carried that same be referred to the Material -Planning Commission, to report back at the next 2231 regular meeting of the Council. ' Moved and carried the City Clerk be instructed to write the President of the P.T.A. advising her 2232 the playground equipment has been installed in 011 the Civic Center Park and to request her to 2233 appoint the mothers who are willing to supervise Material the use of same.
