HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - October 20, 1941 - CC (2)CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. OCTOBER 20, 1941. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens, City Attorney Miller and City Clerk. Absent: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone. Each member present having acknowledged receipt of a vritten copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of October 6, 1941s, the Mayor asked if ' there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of the regular meeting of October 6, 1941 were unanimously approved as -written. A request, offered by the local Building In- spector, for permission to bolt the safe to the floor, was read. Moved and carried this matter be referred to the Superintendent of Streets, with power to act. A communication signed by Mr. Vickery, request- ing payment of damage to his car due to collid- ing with a pedestrian sign, was read. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Mayor Owens this matter be referred to the City Attorney and Chief of Police to report back. Carried by the following vote of the Council:: Ayes: Councilmen:.Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens, Noes: None, Absent: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone. ' A request, offered by the Pastors of the Azusa Foursquare Church, to use the Auditorium on November 10, 1941, was read. Moved and carried that same be granted provided there are no conflicting dates. The local Planning Commission recommended that Mr. Winokur be granted permission to erect a garage on the property located near the corner of Foothill Boulevard and Alameda Avenue, with the provision that the Fire Zone and set back requirements be complied with. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Council- man Bradshaw the Council accept the recommend- ations of the Planning Commission. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone. The local Planning Commission also recommended that the property described as Lots 10, 11, 12 in Block 70, City of Azusa, be re -zoned. ' Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Mayor Owens the Council accept the recommendations of the Planning Commission. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone. Councilman Arnold offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, IAS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZ- ING AN EXCEPTION OR VARIANCE UNDER SECTION 16 OF ORDINANCE NO. 342 IN FAVOR OF ALBERT P. MADIN, APPLICABLE TO LATS 100 11, 12, BLOCK 70, CITY OF AZUSA. 7: 30 P. M. Roll call. Minutes approved. Bldg. Inspector's request granted. Mr. Vickery's re- quest referred to City Attorney. Request to use Auditorium granted: Mr. Winokur grant- ed permission to erect a garage. FERRING FROM THE WATER RESERVE FUND TO THE 1736 adopted. WATER BOND 1906 INTEREST AND REDEMPTION FUND THE SUM OF THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FOUR DOLLARS ($374.00)0 AND TO THE WATER BOND 1914 INTEREST AND REDEMPTION FUND THE SUM OF ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND FORTY DOLLARS ($19540.00); ALSO TRANSFERRING PFOM THE LIGHT RESERVE FUND TO THE ELECTRIC BOND INTEREST AND REDEMPTION FUND THE SUM OF NINE HUNDRED AND TWENTY DOLLARS ($920.). OCTOBER 17th, 1941, AND AUTHORIZING SAME TO BE 1737 adopted.
