The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone,
Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens, City Attorney Miller and
City Clerk.
Each member present having acknowledged receipt
of a written copy of the minutes of the regular
meeting of October 20, 1941, the Mayor asked if
' there were any objections or corrections to said
minutes. There being none, the minutes of the
regular meeting of October 20, 1941 were unani-
mously approved as written.
Mr. Everett Morgan addressed the Council relative
to the hand bill ordinance.
Council assured him the Ordinance would be en-
forced.
Mr. Muehe addressed Council relative to the fire
insurance on the warehouse.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Council-
man Jumper this matter be referred to the Finance
Committee to report back at the next regular
meeting of the Council.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Mr. W. 0. Johnson appeared before Council to make
application for a Veteran's license to operate a
lunch wagon on the corner of Irwindale Avenue
' and Broadway Road.
No action taken.
A request for a donation of 615,00, made by the
Canyon City Post No. 180, American Legion, was
read.
No action taken.
A communication from J. A. Mellin, Secretary of
Los Angeles County Planning Commission,w as read.
It was unanimously agreed that the City Clerk be
instructed to advise Mr. Mellin the Council have
no objection to the street being named Irwindale
Avenue.
A communication from the office of Los Angeles
County Surveyor relative to a fee charged by the
County Surveyor for checking subdivision maps,
was read.
Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council-
man Bradshaw the matter be referred to Council-
man Jumper and City Engineer Kressly to report
back.

Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
An application for employment, offered by R. C.
Keneipp, was read and ordered placed on file.
Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Council-
man Jumper the City Clerk be authorized and
instructed to advertise for Bids on a drag shovel.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.

MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL MEETING. NOVEMBER 3, 1941.
Councilman Jumper.offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA COMMENDING THE BRAVERY OF PATROIXAN LOVELACE.
Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council-
man Jumper this Resolution be adopted as read
and numbered Resolution No. 1738.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:-
Ayes:

Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
' Resolved upon motion of Councilman Bradshaw,
seconded by Councilman Malone that Resolution No.
1674, paragraph #1, employing Albert N. Downing
as Janitor of City Buildings at a salary of
$95.00 per month, and only that part of the
Resolution referring to Albert N. Downing, be
rescinded, effective as of October 31, 1941.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council-
man Arnold the Mayor be authorized to invite the
members of the Monrovia City Council to attend
the Armistice Day celebration in Azusa.

Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Malone that the Superintendent of Light and
Power be authorized and instructed to sign an
' agreement between the City of Azusa and the Santa
Fe Railroad Company relative to the wires in the
crossing between Angeleno and San Gabriel Avenues.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Bradshaw the following requisitions be
allowed: 1244-1247, 1307-1323.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Malone, Bradshaw,
Arnold, Owens;.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Bradshaw the following bills be allowed and
warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the
same.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Arnold, Owens.
