Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens, City Attorney Miller and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Malone. Each member present having acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of December 15, 1941s the Mayor asked if ' there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of the regular meeting of December 15, 1941 were unanimously approved as written. A notification of application of liquor license, by Joe Carrion, was read and no action taken. A letter of appreciation, signed by Mr. Mitchell of the Consolidated Rock Products Company, was read and ordered placed on file. A letter from the Royal Indemnity Company relative to accidents at this time of year, was read and referred to the Police, Street, Light and Water Departments. A report of Audit on the Kate Vosburg Memorial Clinic, was read and ordered placed on file. 225 7:30 P.M. Roll call. Minutes approved. No action on liquor license application. Communication ordered placed on file. Communication from Royal In- demnity Company referred to heads of Departments. Report of Audit placed on file. Mr. Parker appeared before Council relative to tax deeded lot 9, Tract 5970. Mr. Parkerls This matter was referred to City Attorney Tscharner. request referred to City Attorney. Councilman Jumper offered.a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, EMPLOYING FRED BECKER AS SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT RESOLUTION NO. OPERATOR AND FIXING HIS SALARY. 1742 adopted. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Council- man Arnold this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1742. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent; Councilman Malone. Councilman Bradshaw offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, EMPLOYING RESOLUTION NO. FRANK POETKER AS LINEMAN FOR THE CITY OF AZUSA AND 1743 adopted. FIXING HIS SALARY OR COMPENSATION. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Council- man Jumper this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1743. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Malone. Moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Council- man Jumper the Council adjourn fora 15 minute executive session, after which time the meeting was resumed. Councilman Bradshaw offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 15840 AND CLASSIFYING AND DEFINING THE EMPLOYMENT OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEES AND FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Arnold this Resolution be adopted as written and numbered Resolution No. 1744. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Bradshaw, Arnold, Owens. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Malone. Mayor Owens announced that he had appointed the following members of the local Tire Rationing Board: A. L. Meier, Walter I. Heth, and Mrs. Lydia Jester; that the Board would meet in the Mayor's office Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10:00 A.M. until 12 noon aid they would be controlled by the Federal Government. Superintendent of Light and Water V. D. Smith addressed the Council relative to the agreement between the City of Azusa and the Azusa Irrigating Company. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Council- man,Jumper Mr. Smith be instructed to purchase the necessary pipe for the emergency connection between the City of Azusa water main and that of the Azusa Irrigating Water Compal y. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Bradshaw, A rnold, Owens. Ncs : None. Absent: Councilman Malone. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Bradshaw the following requisitions be allowed: 1359 - 1364.
