The City Council of the City of Azusa met
in regular adjourned session at the above
time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens,
Malone, Bradshaw, Morden, City Attorney
Tscharner, and City Clerk. Absent: Mayor
Jumper.
' Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council-
man Morden, Councilman Owens be appointed Mayor
pro tem to serve during Mayor Jumper's absence.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Malone, Bradshaw, Morden
Noes None Absent: Mayor Jumper
Councilman Owens not voting.

City Attorney Tscharner explained to Council
that Louis Burke had rendered an opinion r ela- OPINION ON
tive to the wrecking and removal by the City of BOX HOUSE
a building 40' x 100' known as the box house and
owned by the Azusa Citrus Association.
Councilman Morden asked the cost of wrecking the
building and the cost of paving land where build-
ing stood. It was agreed the entire cost would
not exceed $300.00.
Councilman Malone offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, TO
PURCHASE A CERTAIN BUILDING FROM THE AZUSA CITRUS
ASSOCIATION AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY
CLERK TO COMPLETE SUCH PURCHASE.
Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Council-
man Owens this Resolution be adopted as read and

Carried by the following vote of the Council:
ADOPTED
Ayes: Councilmen: Malone, Bradshaw, Owens
Noes: Councilman Morden. Absent: Mayor Jumper
Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Council-
man Morden and duly carried, Council adjourn to
meet again on Monday, May 11, 1942 at 7:30 o'clock
P.M.
