Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Maloney Bradshaw, Morden, Jumper. City Attor- ney Tscharner and City Clerk. Absent: None Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meet- ' Ing of June 159 1942. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said min- utes. Moved and seconded the minutes --be cor- rected to read that the City donate $225.00 instead of $210.00..to the.Youth.Summer Program. With this correction, the minutes of -the regular meeting were unanimously approved as -written, Communications from F. S. Hayden and Roger Dalton were read -and ordered placed on file. Mr. Hurls addressed Council relative to the pool hall owned by Mr. Clark. He said the condition of the building both in_the.front and rear was unsightly and presented a fire hazard. Mr. Clark addressed Council stating that he would keep the premises clean and in good repair. Mr. Clark's application_for._a business license to operate a pool hall at -621 Azusa Avenue, was read. It was unanimously agreed to take no further action in this matter until the next regular meeting of Council. ' Mr. Walden addressed Council relative to the Rainbow Angling Club's sewage disposal problem. An estimated figure of $1,514.10 for material and labor to connect with the City sewer was offered. No action taken. Mr. Muehe addressed Council relative to the insuraned-on war damage to City owned property. No action taken. Mr. Mushe also addressed Council relative to the Fruit Preserving Plant now being operated on his property on West Foothill Boulevard. Councilman Morden offered an Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA,.RELATING.TO THE DEFINI- TION OF TEMPORARY BUSINESS. to be placed upon its first reading. This Ordinance was then read for the first time. John R. Parr offered a written application to operate a cafe at 112 East Foothill Boulevard. ' Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Councilman Morden, Mr. Parr be issued a busi- ness license to operate the cafe with the understanding the windows be free from obstruc- tion. Griffin, OFFICE HOURS Acting Chief Engineer of the Los -Angeles FOR BUILDING County Department of Building and Safety, INSPECTOR relative to reducing the office hours from two 9:00 to 10:00 At hours daily to one hour, was read. It was unanimously agreed that the office hours for the Building Inspector be from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. A letter and copy of Resolution adopted by the COMMUNICATION Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors was PLACED ON FILE read and ordered placed on file. Mrs. M. R. Frisbee requested a fee of $15.00 MRS. FRISBEE'S per month for supervising the City dump. LETTER PLACED ON FILE ' Moved and carried that same be placed on file. CITY ATTORNEY The Library Board requested Council to paint PAINTING OF the interior of the adult department of the LIBRARY REFER - Azusa Public Library. RED TO COUNCIL- MAN MALONE Moved and carried the matter be referred to ' Councilman Malone to report back.
