The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Malone, Bradshaw, Morden, Jumper. City Attor- ney Tscharner and City Clerk. Absent: None Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular ' meeting of July 6, 1942. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of the regular meeting were unanimously ap- proved as written. Mr. Leroy Clark appeared before Council and reported that he had taken most of the paint off the pool hall windows and that it would be approximately sixty days before he could install the new front on the building. No action taken in this matter. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Council- man Malone, Council approve the action of the Mayor. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Malone, Bradshaw, Morden, Jumper Noes: None Absent: None Councilman Owens not voting. ' Councilman Malone offered an Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, RELATING TO THE DEFINITION OF TEMPORARY BUSINESS to be placed upon its second reading. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council- ROLL CALL MINUTES APPROVED MR. CLARK REPORTED ON POOL HALL COMMUNICATION FILED CITY CLERK INSTRUCTED TO WRITE MR. MCKAY AND MR. OTT M. OWENS AND D. CHESTER APPOINTED MEMBERS OF LIBRARY BOARD ORDINANCE NO.372 ADOPTED A communication from the State Compensation Insurance Fund relative to the pro -rate can- cellation effective July 1, 1942, of Policy No.V-18-12241-410 was read. Moved and carried same be placed on file. Mr. McKay, Depot Manager for Standard Oil Company, offered a complete report on the rubber salvage project in Azusa. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Councilman Owens, the City Clerk be instructed ' to advise Mr. McKay and Mr. Ott that Council feel the rubber salvage campaign was handled in a very commendable manner and is worthy of sincere praise. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Malone, Bradshaw, Morden, Jumper Noes: None Absent: None Mayor Jumper appointed Mrs. Mattie Owens and Mrs. Dorothy Chester to serve on the Azusa Public Library Board from July 1,. 1942 to June 30, 1945. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Council- man Malone, Council approve the action of the Mayor. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Malone, Bradshaw, Morden, Jumper Noes: None Absent: None Councilman Owens not voting. Councilman Malone offered a Resolution entitled: RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY N0.17ED ADOPTED OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($3,000) FROM THE 1915 ACT DEFICIENCY FUND TO THE 1915 IMPROVEMENT ACT FUND Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council- man Malone, this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No.1765. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Malone, Bradshaw, Morden, Jumper Noes: None Absent: None Moved by Councilman Malone, seconded by Council- BUSINESSMEN man Bradshaw, the following businessmen be granted the City Business for the month of ' August: Ambulance - D. B. White Grease Jobs - Kraft's Doctor - Dr. Hankins Lumber - Williams First Aid - Richter's Paint - Morgan's Garage - Tony's Restaurant - Malt Shop Hardware - Spriggs Tires - C. H. Howard Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Malone, Bradshaw, Morden, Jumper Noes: None Absent: None Mayor Jumper appointed Councilmen Morden, REPORT Bradshaw, and Malone a committee of three to REFERRED TO check the report sub�Ltted by Mr. Muehe on war COMMITTEE insurance coverage'for City owned property, and to report back at the next regular meeting. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council- CITY CIERK man Morden, the Clerk be instructed to advertise INSTRUCTED for bids on 1 Standard 3/4 ton pick-up truck and TO ADVERTISE 1 Standard 1/2 ton pick-up truck.
