The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Malone, Bradshaw, Morden, Jumper, City Attorney and City Clerk. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of August 17, 1942. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There be- ing none, the minutes of the regular meet- ing of August 17, 1942, were unanimously approved as written. The Clerk announced she had received one sealed bid in answer to Notice calling for sealed bids on a dump truck for the Sewer Department. Moved by Councilman Malone seconded by Councilman Bradshaw, Council reject the bid of the Drew Carriage Company and refer the purchase of a dump truck to the Chairman of Purchasing Committee, with power to act. Steins requested Council to grant him a license as a Junk Dealer. Moved and carried the Clerk advise Mr. Steins to contact City Attorney Tscharner who will assist Mr. Steins in acquiring his license. MR. STEINE' S LETTER REFERRED TO CITY ATTORNEY A communication signed by Verne Heth, Committee Chairman of the Civitan Club of Azusa requesting permission to place a bench marked "For Service PERMISSION GRANT - Men Only" near one of the intersections on ED TO PLACE Foothill Boulevard, was read. Turner, Chief Engineer, County Fire Protection Districts, was read. Councilman Malone offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR EXPENDITURE OF 1/4 CENT GAS TAX ALLOCATED FOR STREETS OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE. RESOLUTION NO. 1769 ADOPTED. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Bradshaw this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1769. Councilman Morden offered a Resolution entitled: ' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, TRANSFER- RESOLUTION NO. RING FROM THE WATER RESERVE FUND TO THE; WATER =D 1906 INTEREST AND REDEMPTION FUND THE SUM1770 ADOPTED. Councilman Morden offered a Resolution Entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, LEVYING TAXES AND FIXING THE RATE OF ALL PROPERTY IN ' SAID CITY FOR ALL MUNICIPAL PURPOSES AND TO PAY THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS AND INTEREST ON THE RESOLUTION D. Mc Carthy, District Right of Way Agent, for the State of California,relative to pathway NO ACTION TAKEN and concrete steps easement in highway viaduct under the Atchison, Topeka and Santa IN MATTER OF EASE - Fe railway tracks at engineer's station MENT OVER SANTA FF 47+80, north side, was read. Councilman Malone reported he had received a PAINTING OF CHAIRS quotation or bid price of $25.00 to paint the tables and chairs on the main floor REFERRED TO CHAIR - of the Library.
