HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 14-C11RESOLUTION NO. 14-C11 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA APPOINTING A REPRESENTATIVE AND AN ALTERNATE AND SUBSTITUTE ALTERNATE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE GOVERNING BOARD OF THE INDEPENDENT CITIES RISK MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY (ICRMA) WHEREAS, the City of Azusa ("City") is a member of the Independent Cities Risk Management Authority ("ICRMA"), a joint powers authority created pursuant to the provisions of the California Government Code; and WHEREAS, ICRMA provides a Liability Risk Management Program, Property Risk Management Program, Workers' Compensation Risk Management Program, and other programs for its members; and WHEREAS, the Joint Powers Agreement provides that the city council of each member city may appoint a member of the city council as that city's representative to the ICRMA Governing Board and also authorizes the appointment of an alternate representative and a substitute alternate representative to represent the city's interest in the absence of the city council appointee; and WHEREAS, City desires to designate its representative to the ICRMA Governing Board; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby find, determine and declare as follows: SECTION 1. That Joseph Rocha, the Mayor of the City of Azusa, is hereby appointed to serve on the ICRMA Governing Board and to the Risk Management Programs in which this City participates. SECTION 2. That Susan Paragas, the Finance Director, is hereby appointed as the alternate, to serve on the ICRMA Governing Board and to the Risk Management Programs in which this City participates in the absence of the primary member noted in Section 1 above. SECTION 3. That Traci Bailey, the Human Resources/Risk Management Analyst, is hereby appointed as the substitute alternate, to serve on the ICRMA Governing Board and to the Risk Management Programs in which this City participates in the absence of the primary and alternate members noted in Sections 1 and 2 above. SECTION 4. That the individuals designated by this City Council as the City's representative, alternate and substitute alternate representatives to the ICRMA Governing Board and to the Risk Management Programs in which this City participates are hereby confirmed and designated as the City's delegates for all purposes of representing the City's interests and exercising the authority of the City with respect to the Coverage and the Program and voting on behalf of the City on all matters delegated to the Governing Board and signing such amendments as are contemplated to be approved by the Governing Board. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a certified copy of this Resolution shall be provided to the General Manager of the ICRMA.
