HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 14-C71RESOLUTION NO. 14-C71 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN INTERIM CITY MANAGER WHEREAS, Government Code Section 21224 addresses the temporary employment of retirees in accordance with the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CaIPERS) and, WHEREAS, the position of City Manager for the City of Azusa is currently vacant and the City is actively recruiting for this vacancy and needs to fill the position on a temporary basis to prevent stoppage of public business until a permanent replacement is hired, and WHEREAS, Donald Penman, a Ca1PERS retiree, satisfies the requirements of Government Code Section 21224, and has been selected by the City Council to fill the position of City Manager on an interim basis until a permanent replacement is hired. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Azusa does hereby authorize the appointment of Donald Penman as Interim City Manager until a permanent replacement is hired.
