The City Council of the City of Azusa met
in regular session at the above time and
place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens,
Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone, City
Attorney Tscharner and City Clerk. Absent: None.
Each member present acknowledged receipt of
a written copy of the minutes of the regular
meeting of February 1st. The Mayor asked if
there were any objections or corrections to
t said minutes. T ere being none, the minutes
of February 1, 1D43, were approved as written.
Mr. Perkins requested permission to plant a
vegetable garden in the parkway in front -of
#719 Alameda Avenue. It was unanimously agreed
Mr. Perkins request be granted.
Mrs. Lupe Rosales requested permission to
construct an addition -to the dwelling located
at #307 Azusa Avenue.
It was unanimously agreed that the Planning
Commission also Building Inspector file a
report with Council, beforeaction can be taken
in this matter.'
Letters from the California Tax Payers'
Association and the League of California Cities
were read and ordered placed on file.
Ac ommunication from J. A. Beek, Secretary of
the Senate, State of California, relative to a
Resolution calling for information from various
Cities of the State relative to duplicate
service and elimination of functions for the
' Duration, was read.
Moved and carried same be referred to the City
Attorney and City Clerk to report back.
A communication signed by Janelle Lindsay,
Secretary of the Parent Teacher's Association,
relative to the gambling element in cities in
this district, was read.
Moved and carried the City Clerk be instructed
to thank Mrs Lindsay for her expression of con-
fidence and to request further information
concerning gambling in this district.
Two Resolutions adopted by the Los Angeles
County Board of Supervisors relative to publica-
tion of Notice of Sale, by cities, of Tax
Deeded Lands, were read and ordered placed on
file.
It was unanimously agreed that H. 0. Williams
continue to do the field work for the 1943-
1944 Tax Year.
Mr. Putnam, President of the Azusa Public
Library Board, addressed Council relative to
' Mrs Chester's continued absence from Board
meetings. Moved and carried the City Clerk
be instructed to write Mrs. Chester explaining
that the Library Board would like to have full
attendance at all meetings. In the event she
feels she can no longer attend, the President
of the Library Board requests her resignation.
Councilmen Morden and Bradshaw reported on re-
pair of the roof of the Fire Hall. Robert F.
Hill repaired roof, gutters, and tower at a
cost of $275.50.
Moved by [Councilman Owens, seconded by Council-
man Lamm, Council approve the Committees

Councilman Owens reported the Control Center is
almost finished, and the cost will be a little CONTROL
more than the estimate. CENTER.
Councilman Lamm presented the subject of ad-
ditional water for thosewho wish to have a
Victory Garden. It was agreed that those interest-
ed in this matter, present to Council the WATER FOR
Solution to this problem. VICTORY
GARDENS.
Councilman Bradshaw offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 1766 AND FIXING SALARY OF EMPLOYEE.
Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman
Morden, this resolution be adopted as read and
numbered Resolution No. 1783. ' RESOLiITION
Carried by the following vote of the Council: NO. 1783
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, ADOPTED.
Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council-
man Morden, the following requisitions be
allowed: #1601 - 1602 - 1603.
