The City Council of the City of Azusa met in reg-
ular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, ROLL CALL
Bradshaw, Morden, Malone„ City Attorney Tscharner,
and City Clerk.
Absent: None.
Each member present acknowledged receipt of a
written copy of the minutes of the regular
Meeting of April 5, 1943, and the Special
' Meeting of March 31st. The Mayor asked if there
were any objections or corrections to said min- MINUTES AP-
utes. There being none, the minutes.of April 5, PROVED
and March 31st, 1943, were approved as written.
A letter of appreciation for the use of the LETTER ORDERED
Auditorium, signed by B. J. Paroulek, was read PLACED ON FILE.
and ordered placed on file.
A bid on gasoline was offered and ordered placed
on file.
Councilman Owens offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 1713 ADOPTED BY
SAID CITY COUNCIL ON APRIL 21, 1941, IN THE
MATTER OF THE IMPROVEMENT OF CERTAIN STREETS RESOLUTION NO.
WITHIN SAID CITY FROM FUNDS ALLOCATED BY LOS 1789 ADOPTED.
ANGELES COUNTY OUT OF ITS SHARE OF MONEYS COL-
LECTED FROM THE LEVEE OF TAXES ON MOTOR VEHICLE
FUEL AND DISTRIBUTED TO SAID COUNTY BY THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA_ FOR THE 1940-1941 FISCAL YEAR.
Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Councilman

The Clerk announced she had received one sealed
Bid in answer to Notice calling for Bids on the
sale of old copper and scrap metal.
Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman
Owens, this Bid now be opened, examined, and
publically declared.

AZUSA IN THE FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF SA TD CITY, RESOLUTION D?0.
TO BE KNOWN AS 'PAYROLL ACCOUNT" AND FURTHER 1790 ADOPTED.
AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO DRAW A DEMAND
AND WARRANT AGAINST THE GENERAL FUND IN THE
SUM OF $250.00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISH=
ING SUCH PAYROLL ACCOUNT AND ALSO AUTHORIZ-
ING THE FINANCE COMMITTEE TO APPROVE THE
TRANSFER OF FUNDS REPRESENTING THE TOTAL
PAYROLL EARNINGS OF ALL DEPARTMENTS OF THE

MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 19, 1943. 7:30 P.M.
Mayor. Malone appointed Mrs. Ben Spriggs to serve
as a member of the Azusa Public Library Board,
her term of office to expire, June 1946.
Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council-
man Morden, Council approve the action of the
Mayor.

Morden, Malone.

man Lamm, the matter of repairing the warehouse
be referred to Virgil Smith, with power to act.

City Attorney Tscharner reported that no
action was taken by the members of the Board
of the San Gabriel River Spreading Corporation
relative to the breeding of mosquitos on
Spreading Ground in the North section of the
City.
City Attorney Tscharner reported the Aerojet
people requested the City to re -zone Lots
31 and 32 of Sub. #2 A. L. & W. Co. No action
taken at this time.

The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above tiTe and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen': Owens,
Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone, City Attorney
Tscharner, and City Clerk.
Absent: None.
Each member present acknowledged receipt of
a written copy of the minutes of the regular
meeting of April 19, 1943. The Mayor asked
' if there were any objections or corrections
to said minutes. There being none, the
minutes of April 19, 1943, were approved as
written.
Mr. Paul R. Wilson, Business Manager for the
Nobell Resins Company, addressed Council
relative to opening a place of business for
the manufacture of plastics at 750 West
Foothill Boulevard.
Council told Mr. Wilson there would be no
objections to the manufacture of plastics
at this address, so long as all requirements
stated in City Ordinances were observed.
A petition with nine signatures attached
thereto, requesting the repair of the alley
north of Eleventh Street between Angeleno
and San Gabriel Avenues, was presented.
A petition with thirteen signatures attached
thereto, requesting the improvement of the
alley north of Foothill Boulevard, between
San Gabriel and Angeleno Avenues, was
' presented.
Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by
Councilman Bradshaw, all petitions for the
improvement of alleys be referred to
Councilman Morden, and Street Superintendent
Wolfe, with power to act.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw,
Morden, Malone.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by
Councilman Morden Councilman V. A. Owens,
be directed to attend the Annual Conference
of the California Conference of Social Work
to be held May 11th to 14th inclusive, with
expenses paid.
