The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone, City Attorney Tscharner, and City Clerk. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of June 7, 1943. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to original copy of said minutes. There being none, the minutes of June 7, 1943', were ap- proved as written. The Clerk announced she had received one Bid In answer to Notice Calling for Bids for the removal of garbage. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Council- man Owens, the Bid now be opened, examined and publically declared. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. LOU BRANCH HOG RANCH To Azusa City Council Gentlemen: ROLL CALL MINUTES APPROVED BID ON GARBAGE Relative to the garbage bid for a period of two years my bid is in the amount of $225.00 per month. This is for collection twice a week. All cans must be placed on the curb or in the alleys in plain sight and must carry a lid. Should the City of Azusa decide against awarding a contract to a private collector and take over_ the collection I will pay 50¢ per ton or $9.00 per month delivered to my ranch and dumped to suit my needs. Any weighing fees to be borne by the City of Azusa. This bid is for all above city garbage. Yours truly, LOU BRANCH Mrs. Hayden submitted an oral Bid of $150.00 per month for two collections per week. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council- man Morden, Council reject all Bids. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw; Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. The Notice of Bankruptcy of the Asphalt Paving Company was read. Moved and carried the matter be referred to the City Attorney to report back. A claim for tax refund, made by the Azusa Rock and Sand Company, was offered. CLAIM FOR REFUND Moved and carried the matter be referred to REFERRED TO CITY the City Attorney to report back. ATTORNEY Charles F. Davis submitted his resignation as Patrolman, effective as of July 1, 1943. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Council- man Morden, Council accept this resignation, and F. DAVIS' Mr. Davis be notified to return all City property _CHARLES RESIGNATION ACCEPTED . Councilman Bradshaw offered an Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA PROHIBITING VEHICLES TO BE TURNED SO RESOLUTION NO. AS TO PROCEED IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, AT 374 ADOPTED. ' THE INTERSECTION OF AZUSA AVENUE AND FOOTHILL - BOULEVARD IN SAID CITY, AND PRESCRIBING PENALTY THEREOF. To be placed upon its second, reading. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Lamm, Council waive the further reading of this Ordinance. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Councilman Morden, this Ordinance be adopted as written and Numbered Ordinance No. 374. A letter addressed to the City Council of Azusa, and signed by Stanley F. FILE. Councilman Owens, offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AGREEING TO EXTEND CONTRACT WITH THE AZUSA IRRIGATING COMPANY. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by RESOLUTION NO. Councilman Morden, this Resolution be adopted 1798 ADOPTED. as read and numbered Resolution No. 1798.
