CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. MONDAY JULY 19r 1943. 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens,
Lamm, Bradshaw, 14orden, Malone, and City ROLL CALL
Clerk. Absent: City Attorney.
Each member present acknowledged receipt
of a written copy of the minutes of the
' regular meeting of July 5, 1943. The Mayor
asked if there were any objections or
corrections to said minutes. there being none, R4INUTES APPROVED
the minutes of July 5, 1943, were approved
as written.
Mr. E. B. Griffith addressed Council relative MR. GRIFFITH AD -
to the cost of spreading water. DRESSED C OUNTIL.
Mr. Tscharner entered the meeting and took
his seat at the Council table.
Councilman Morden offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES.COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF FIFTEEN THOUSAND RESOLUTION NO. 1800
DOLLARS (W,000.00) FROM THE LIGHT FUND TO ADOPTED.
THE GENERAL FUND.
Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council-
man Lamm, this Resolution be adopted as read
' and numbered Resolution No. 1800.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw,
Morden, Malone.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council-
man Morden, the City pay to San Gabriel River
Spreading Corporation, the sum of $150.00

annually, beginning with July 1st, 1943, for

services rendered to the City in spreading

water, and thereby maintaining the sub -surface

Councilman Lamm, the City Clerk be instructed
to purchase four (4) "No U Turn" signs with
CITY CLERK INSTRUCT -
reflectors to be erected at the intersection

of Foothill Boulevard and Azusa Avenue.

Councilman Morden offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES, COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, FIXING
THE SALARIES OF CERTAIN CITY EMPLOYEES.
Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Council-
man Owens, this Resolution be adopted as read
and numbered Resolution No. 1801.

Councilman Owens offered'a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF'
AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, RELATING
TO THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE CURRENT TAX
PAYMENT ACT OF 1943.
Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by
Councilman Lamm, this Resolution be adopted as
read and numbered Resolution No. 1802.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw,
Morden, Malone.
Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Council-
man Bradshaw, the City Clerk be authorized and
instructed to return the cashiers check sub-
mitted by Mr. L. Branch in lieu of Bond required
for the collection of garbage.

Councilman Owens reported that the Department
of Civilian Defense, as established under
Ordinance No. 375, has recommended to the City
Council for appointment by it, as provided in
said Ordinance, the following persons to the

It was agreed to call to the attention of owners
of vacant lots the need of cleaning off the weeds.
