Due to lack of a quorum the meeting of the Azusa City douncil was adjourned to Monday October 25, 1943, to be reconvened and continued at 7:30 P.M. on said date. CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. MONDAY OCTOBER 25, 1943. 7:30 P.M. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular adjourned session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone, City Attorney Tscharner, and City Clerk. Absent: None. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meeting,- of October 4, 1943. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of October 4, 1943, were approved as written. A communication from City Engineer Paul E. Kressly relative to the need of the installation of a meter, and indication, totalizing and recording instrument to measure the quantity of water pumped, was read. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Owens, the City Engineer be authorized to pur- chase and install such an instrument. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council- man Lamm, the City Engineer be instructed to check the water pressure in the northerly portion of the City, and report back at the next regular meeting of the Council. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lem, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. A communication signed by George J. Abdelnour relative to the driveways leading into vacant lots located between #627 and #631 Azusa Avenue, was read. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Councilman Owens, the City refuse to accept this property as a parking lot due to liability involved, and the driveways be closed at the request of the owner. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. ' A communication signed by Corneluis Smith, Secretary of -,the Planning Commission, recom- mending that Council deny Harry Owen's request for removal of trees, was read. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council- man Lamm, Council accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission, with the understanding that a reasonable length of time be given to see whether or not this type of tree will improve with proper care. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. ROLL CALL MINUTES AP- PROVED.
