CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. MONDAY NOVEMBER 15, 1943. 7:30 P.M.
The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm,
Bradshaw, Morden, Malone, City Attorney Tscharner
and City Clerk. Absent: None.
Eacm member present acknowledged receipt of a written
copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of Nov-
ember 1st, 1943. The Mayor asked if there were any
objeftions or corrections to said minutes. There
being none, the minutes of November lst, 1943, were
approved as written.
Mrs. Pearl Rottuson of #535 Orange Avenue, requested
aid in removing the burned remains of a chicken house.
No action taken in the matter.
A report on pressure test on hydrant system made by
Fire Prevention Bureau, was read and ordered placed
on file.
Mr. 0. W. Ross, manager of the Safeway Store, requested
Council have City trucks collect waste paper in two
main City blocks.
It was unanimously agreed the matter be referred to
the City Attorney to report back.
Mrs. G. A. Millar requested the delinquent tax on
Lot 31, Block 7, Tract 8507, be adjusted due to the
fact the house located on the property has been
moved off, and delinquent tax for the years 1929-
1939-1931 includes the tax assessed agginst the im-
provement.
City Attorney Tscharner ruled there was no law under
which Council would have authority to take such action.
Councilman Morden offered a Resolution entitled:

805, STATUTES OF 1943, FOR THE CITIZEN'S CORPS, 1809 ADOPTED.
DIVISION OF AZUSA WAR COUNCIL.
Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Councilman
Lamm, this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered
Resolution No. 1809.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden,
Malone.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman Owens, offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CO NCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLI-
CATION FOR STATE AID UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER
805, STATUTES OF 1943, FOR THE CITIZEN'S SERVICE RESOLUTION NO.
CORPS, DIVISION OF AZUSA WAR COUNCIL. 1910 ADOPTED.
Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman
Lamm, this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered
Resolution No. 1810.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Councilman
Owens, the City Treasurer be authorized and instructed PROPERTY DE -
to cancel City tax on property described as a portion CLARE:D TAX
of Lots 11 and 12 of Subdivision iF2, Azusa Land and EXEMPT.
(Known as Parcel No. 9R)
MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD MONDAY NOVEMBER 15, 1943
Water Company, levied and assessed subsequent to the
property passing into hands of Federal Government.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden,
Malone.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Councilman
Morden, W. B. Chenoweth's salary be placed at $165.00
for the months of December 1943 and January 1944;
$170.00 for February and March 1944; $175.00 for
April and thereafter, at the pleasure of the City
Council.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden,
Malone.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Superintendent of Light and Water V. D. Smith, was
instructed by Council to employ a lineman at a salary
not to exceed $225.00.
Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman
Bradshaw, the following requisitions be allowed:
1762-1763.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden,
Malone.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Morden, -seconded by Councilman
Bradshaw, the following Bills be allowed and warrants
ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same:
