HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - December 6, 1943 - CC (2)CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. MONDAY DECEMBER 6, 1943. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone, City Attorney Miller, and City Clerk. Absent: None. 7:30 P.M. 25 ROLL CALL Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of November MINUTES 15, 1943. The Mayor asked if there were any objections APPROVED or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of November 15, 19439 were approved as written. The annual report of the Azusa Citrus Company was presented, and ordered placed on file. Mayor Malone appointed Councilman Lamm to represent the City at the annual meeting of the Azusa Citrus Association. The action of the Mayor was unanimously approved. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Council- man Owens, the Agreement between the City of Azusa and City of Pomona, relative to Police Radio Communications and technical service, be approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized and instructed to sign same. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None: Ray Boudinot requested Soldier's Exemption be applied on property purchased from Mrs. Williams. Moved by Councilman Morden,'seconded by Councilman Lamm, the City Assessor be instructed to make this correction on Mr. Boudinot's tax bill. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. The California Employees Stabilization Plan was discussed. Council unanimously agreed to continue the personnel system now employed by this City. A letter addressed to City Attorney Tscharner relative to the applications for aid for Civilian Defense purposes, was read and ordered placed on file. Councilman Owens offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, RELATIVE TO WORKMAN'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE FOR VOLUNTEER CIVILIAN DEFENSE WORKERS. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Lamm, this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered ' Resolution No. 1811. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Owens, the City pay $4.00 dues, to California Sewage Works Association. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. AZUSA CITRUS COMPANY RE- PORT. SEWAGE WORKS ASSOCIATION DUES. 70HBX m d J MINUTES OF THE -MEETING HELD MONDAY DECEMBER 6, 19439 7:30 P.M. 2 City Attorney Tscharner addressed Council in the matter of tax deeded property, outlining methods whereby the property could be sold at public auction, TAX DEEDED and thus returned to the active tax roll. PROPERTY No action taken in the matter. Moved by Councilman Lamm, the following 1764-1765-1766. Carried by the foll Ayes: Councilmen: Malone. Noes: None.
