The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. -Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone, City Attorney ROLL CALL Miller and City Clerk. Absent: None. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of January 3rd, and regular adjourned meeting of January 10th,1944. The Mayor asked if there were any objections'or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of January 3rd, and January 10th, 1944, were approved as written. The City Clerk announced she had received eight Bids in answer to Notice Calling for Bids on the construction of a pipe line. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Lamm, the Bids be now opened, examined and publicly declared. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Lamm, the matter of replacing the fence in the rear of the Methodist Church be referred to the Chairman of Public Works and the Street Superintendent, with power to act. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. V. D. Smith, Superintendent of Light and Water Department, reported the Williams Sign Company will repair the Neon sign for $20.00, and service it for $9.00 per month. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Owens, the Superintendent of Light And Water be authorized and instructed to sign an agreement with the Williams Sign Company for the repair and maintenance of the Neon ' sign. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. The City Engineer and Superintendent of Water Department reported on the Bids submitted. Councilman Owens, offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR FURNISHING CERTAIN MATERIALS THEREFOR AND REJECTING OTHER BIDS SUBMITTED IN THE MATTER OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 12" DIAMETER WATER MAIN AND OTHER APPUR- TENANCES ALONG ELEVENTH STREET AND OTHER LOCATIONS. Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Council- man Morden this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1814. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Council- man Bradshaw, the following requisitions be allowed: 1733-1734-1735-1736-1737-1739-1770. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. REPLACING FENCE REFERRED TO STREET SUPERIN- TENDENT. WILLIAMS SIGN COMPANY REPORT ON BIDS RESOLUTION NO. 1814 ADOPTED REQUISITIONS Mrs. Eleanor Warren offered a written request for the removal of a tree in the parkway in front of the property located at #622 Sunset Avenue. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council- man Lamm, this request be referred to the REQUEST FOR Planning Commission to report back at the next REMOVAL OF regular meeting of Council. ' The Pacific Rock and Gravel Company submitted price quotations on rock and gravel for the QUOTATIONS ON year 1944. GRAVEL AND SAND No action taken in this matter.
