The City Council of the City of Azusa met in Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Owens, and duly carried, Council adjourn. city ey o Azusa Azusa ROLL CALL AGREEMENT BETWEEN AMERICAN CYANAMID AND CHEMICAL CORP. CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA. MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 1944. 7:30 P.M. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, ROLL CALL Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone, City Attorney Miller and City Clerk. Absent: None. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of January 17th, and the adjourned meeting of January 24, 1944. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of January 17th, and January 24, 1944, were approved as written. The Planning Commission recommended that Mrs. regular adjourned session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm,.Morden, Malone, City Attorney Miller, and'City Clerk. ' Absent: Councilman Bradshaw. It was unanimously agreed Council adjourn to the City Clerk's Office, where the meeting was resumed and continued. ' Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Council- man Owens, the Agreement submitted by the City Engineer between the City of Azusa and the American Cyanamid and Chemical Corpor- ation, covering the furnishing of power and water facilities, be approved; and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized and instructed to execute same on the behalf of the City as soon as it has been executed by the President and Secretary of the American Cyanamid and Chemical Corporation. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Bradshaw. Warren.'s request to remove a tree in front of the property located at #622 Sunset Avenue be referred to the Street Superintendent. They also recommended Council deny Mr. Raymond McKinney's request to remove a syc- ' amore tree in front of his property located at #518 Monte Vista Avenue. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Morden, Council accept the Plan- ning Commission's Recommendation, and the City Clerk be instructed to inform Mr. McKinney the Council are of the opinion the sycamore trees will develops into fine shade trees with proper care, and they wish to MINUTES APPROVED ACCEPT PLANNING COMMISSION'S RECOM- MENDATIONS. 42 MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 7, 1944.' 7:30 P.M. 48 to give the trees a reasonable length of time to develope before removing them. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. A communication from the Nettleship Company relative to Fidelity and Deposit Franchise DEPOSIT FRANCHISE Bond issued to Associated Telephone Company, BOND FILED BY Ltd., was read and ordered placed on file. ASSOCIATED TELEPHON COMPANY. Moved by -Councilman Morden, seconded by ' Councilman Lamm, the City Clerk be authorized and directed to draw a demand on the General Fund in the amount of $750.00; $500.00 to be deposited in the City Employees Payroll Account, and $250.00 deposited in the Gity $500. TO BE DEPOSIT Employees Bond Deduction Fund; said $750.00 ED IN EMPLOYEES to remain General Fund monies and to be PAYROLL ACCOUNT returned to the General Fund if and when AND $250. DEPOSIT - said accounts have been closed. ED IN EMPLOYEES Carried by the following vote of the Council: BOND DEDUCTION Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, FUND. Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Morden offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNI4„ RESOLUTION NO. COMMENDING HOUSE RESOLUTIONS NO. 418 AND 419 lR15 ADOPTED. PENDING IN THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES. Moved by Councilman Bradshaw, seconded by Councilman Owens, this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1815. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens', --Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, -Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Council- man Morden, the City Clerk be instructed to IN - purchase ten Series "C" War Bonds of $1,000.00 CITY CLERK IN - each, to be written in the name of the City RCHASEUCTED TO PURCHASE of Azusa. PURCHASE SERIES Carried by the following vote of the Council: "C"'Bonds. Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. City Attorney Tscharner read a report by John A. Bender who offered to conduct a Tax CITY ATTORNEY Sale on Tax Deeded Property, for a fee of 25% TSCHARNER of the sale price. It was unanimously agreed REPORTED ON TAX Council meet with Mr. Bender and Mr. Tscharner DEEDED LANDS at an early date to discuss this matter. Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Council- man Bradshaw, the following requisitions be ' allowed: 1771-1772-1773-1801-1802-1803-1804 1805-1806.
