Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm, City Attorney Miller and ROLL CALL City Clerk. Absent: None. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of January 15, 1945. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of January MINUTES APPROV- 15, 1945 were approved as written. ED. ' Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Owens the bid of the Standard Oil C ompany to supply the City's Annual requirements of gasoline be accept- ed. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. The written request of Stanley D. McCauslin for a zon- ing variance on property described as the West 276 2/3 feet of Lots 10-11-12 Block 84 from an R-1 Zone to permit him to operate a funeral home at 515 East Foot - hill Boulevard, was read. REQUEST FOR A petition signed by eight property owners stating they RE -ZONING RE - wished this property to remain in an R-1 Zone, was read. FERRED TO A petition signed by Bernice Durrell, L. Durrell Hughes PLANNING and Annette Durrell Sprague requesting this property COMMISSION remain in an R-1 Zone, was read. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Morden this matter be referred to the City Planning Commission to report back at the next regular meeting of Council. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owers, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Mrs. Marcelina Quintana of 829 Angeleno Avenue offered $100 as the purchase price for Lot 8 Block 23 owned by the City of Azusa. SALE OF LOT Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- N0. 8 BLOCK 23 man Owens, Council institute proceedings for sale of Lot 8 Block 23. Moved by Councilman P.iernnesheimer, seconded by Council- man Owens the above motion be amended to read that it be resolved that it be the sense of the Council that less than 5'100 net should not be accepted by the City for the nurchase of Lot 8 Block 23. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. A request to operate a beer parlor at 112 East Foothill Boulevard offered by J. R. Parr and Carl J. Stokke was read. Uoved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman KKE PE Jumper this request be granted. PARLOR ' A report submitted by the City Planning Commission re- commending Merle Inlay Schwitzer be granted a variance to operate a Second Hand Lumber Yard at #1017 West Broadway was offered. MISS SCHWITZER Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- GRANTED man Morden this recommendation be accepted and placed on VARIANCE file. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. A report, submitted by Joseph B. Fecklin, special I'.ealth Officer, on the result of investigation -in the REPORT ON FUME° matter of fume complaint made by Ida B. Haney, Sierra INVESTIGATION Madre Avenue, Glendora, was read and ordered placed on ORDERED PLACED file. ON FILE. STANDARD OIL COMPANY GRANTED GASOLINE CONTRACT hill Boulevard, was read. CITY TAX COLLECTOR RESPECTING SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS 1864 ADOPTED AND TAX LIENS ON TAX DEEDED PROPERTY. Bender, Special City Attorney, again publicly declared. Said John F.
