MONDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 1944. 7:30 P..® The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone, City Attorney Miller and City Clerk. Absent: None. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of February 7, 1944. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of February 7, 1944, were ' approved as written. Eureka Fire Hose Division offered quotations on fire hose and couplings. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Bradshaw, the Fire Chief be in- structed to purchase the necessary equipment from the Eureka Fire Hose Division. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. Letters from Jerry Voorhis, John W. McCormack and Joseph W. Martin Jr., were read and ordered placed on file. The United States Air Command, stationed at Long Beach, requested written permission to transport planes over the highway. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Lamm, this matter be referred to the City Attorney and Street Superintendent, with power to act. ' Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: None. The Secretary of Chamber of Commerce sub- mitted a report on an interview with Mr. Carl Vanderlip of the National Housing Association, relative to a Housing Project for the City of Azusa. Moved and carried that sane be placed on file. Councilman Morden offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, CALLING A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 11TH DAY OF APRIL, 1944, AND GIVING A GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE VOTING PRECINCTS AND LOCATION OF THE POLLING PLACES; FIXING THE TINE THE POLLS SHALL BE OPEN; APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICERS THEREFOR AND DIRECTING NOTICE TO BE GIVEN OF SUCH ELECTION AS REQUIRED BY LAW. ' Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Lamm, this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1816.
