The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at -roll call: Councilmen: Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone, City Attorney ROLL CALL Miller and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Owens. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of the regular meeting of February 21, 1944. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or cor- MINUTES APPROVED ' rections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of February 21, 1944, were approved as written. Standard Oil Company of California presented a letter quoting conditions under which they agree to furnish gasoline to the City of Azusa, for one year. MAYOR AUTHORIZED Moved by Councilman Morden,seconded by TO SIGN AGREEMENT Councilman Bradshaw, the Mayor be authorized WITS STANDARD to sign the agreement between the City of OIL COMPANY Azusa and the Standard Oil Company. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. A communication signed by Leland Poage relative to the condition of the bridge over CONDITION OF the Little Dalton Wash, was read. BRIDGE OVER LITTLE Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by DALTON WASH RE - Councilman Lamm this matter be referred to rERRED TO CITY the City Attorney. ATTORNEY. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, ' Malone. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. A communication from R. H. Glenn relative to the pepper trees near his property, was read. REQUEST TO REMOVE Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by PEPPER TREES Councilman Bradshaw, this matter be referred REFERRED TO to the Planning, Commission to report back. PLANNING COTRMIS- Carried by the following vote of the Council: SION. Ayes: Councilmen: Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Council- man Bradshaw, Council contribute $5.00 to the American Legion Drive. MAYOR AUTHORIZED Carried by the following vote of the Council: TO SIGN DEMAND FOR Ayes: Councilmen: Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, $5.00 FOR AFRICAN Malone. LEGION Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. Mr. A. M. McClenden made application for a portion of the City business. MR. MCCLENDEN Moved and carried his name be placed on the TO SHARE CITY list of Business Men serving the City. BUSINESS. The Pickard Shows made application to exhibit a street Carnival. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Lamm this application be denied. PICKARD SHOWS Carried by the following vote of the Council: REQUEST DENIED. Ayes: Councilmen: Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. ' Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. A communication from H. C. Legg, Area Repre- sentative, Committee for Congested Production COMMUNICATION Areas, relative to the housing problem in ORDERED PLACED ON this City, was read and ordered placed on FILE. file. Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Council- man Bradshaw, Council contribute $5.00 to the American Legion Drive. MAYOR AUTHORIZED Carried by the following vote of the Council: TO SIGN DEMAND FOR Ayes: Councilmen: Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, $5.00 FOR AFRICAN Malone. LEGION Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. 52 MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD MARCH 6, 1944. 7;30 P.M. Edmund Thompson made application for vacation; one week now and one week later. No action taken in this matter. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Lamm, the City Engineer and Super- intendent of Light and Water make a survey of the City's Utility Systems, and recommend new equipment required to keep the Systems in good repair, also, the proper accounting system to determine the profit and loss of ' Light, Power and Water Systems. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Councilman Bradshaw, the following recui- sitions be allowed: 1811-1812-1813-1814 1816-1818-1819-1820-1778. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens.
