The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Lamm,
Bradshaw, Morden, Malone, City Attorney
Tscharner and City Clerk. Absent: Council-
man Owens.
Each member present acknowledged receipt of
a written copy of the minutes of the regular
meeting of April 3, 1944. The Mayorasked
if there were any objections or corrections
to said minutes. There being none, the
' minutes of April 3, 1944, were approved as
written.
A request offered by Reverend Patrick .
McGuinness, requesting Council's permission
to hold Church Benefits at Parrish Hall,
was read.
No action taken in this matter.
A communication from George M. Stout, State
Administrator, Liquor Control Division,
relative to the protest of transfer of "on
sale beer" license to Albert Grant, was.read:
The letter was ordered placed on file.
Councilman Morden offered a Resolution
entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, OBJECTING TO THE SALE OF LOT 4 IN
BLOCK 20 OF THE CITY OF AZUSA BY THE COUNTY
OF LOS ANGELES THROUGH ITS TAX COLLECTOR,
FOR DELINQUENT TAX.
' Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by
Councilman Morden, this'Resolutibn be
adopted as read, and numbered Resolution
No. 1818.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Lamm, Morden, Malone.
Noes: None. Absent': Councilmen Owens.
Councilman Bradshaw not voting.
John Abdelnour addressed Council requesting
City business license to import Mexican
leather craft.
City Attorney Tscharner advised that Mr.
Abdelnour file a letter of explanation with
Council before they pass upon his request.
Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by
Councilman Morden, the City Clerk be author-
ized and instructed to order a copy of the
1944-1945 Los Angeles County Tax Roll for
the City of Azusa, at an approximate cost of
$48.00.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Lamm, Morden, Malone.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens.
' Councilman Bradshaw not voting.
Moved by Councilman Lamm; seconded by
Councilman Morden the following requisitions
be allowed: 1780-1781-1836-1837-1838-1839.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Lamm, Morden, Malone.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens.
Councilman Bradshaw not voting.
