The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular adjourned
session at the above time and. place.
Present -at roll call: Councilmen: Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone,
City Attorney Tscharner and City Clerk. Absent:. Councilman: Owens.
Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Councilman Morden, the following
bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for
the same:
WATER FUND

LIGHT FUND

Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Lamm, Bradshaw, Morden, Malone.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens.
Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded by Councilman Morden and duly
carried, Council proceed to canvass the Absentee Ballots.
Thereupon Mayor Malone appointed Councilmen Morden and Lamm to tally
the votes:

proceed to canvass the
returns of the G eneral Municipal
Election
held April 11, 1944.
Carried by the following

Noes: None. Absent: Councilman:

The City Council then proceeded to publicly examine and canvass the
said returns and upon completion of said canvass by said Council, it
appeared that the whole number of votes cast at said election was 800;
that the names of the persons voted for, the offices for which they
were voted, and the number of votes given in Consolidated Precinct "A"
and Consolidated precinct "B" to each of said person together with the
whole number of votes which they received in the entire City are
as follows:

Councilman Morden offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE
OFFICIAL COUNT AND CANVASS OF THE VOTERS
AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN
SAID CITY ON APRIL 119 1944.
Moved by Councilman Lamm, seconded,by Councilman Bradshaw, the
resolution be adopted as read, and numbered Resolution no. 1819.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF AZUSA', LOS ANGELES COUNTY,
CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE
OFFICIAL COUNT AND CANVASS OF THE VOTERS
AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN
SAID CITY ON APRIL 11, 1944
The City Council of the City of Azusa does resolve as follows:
WHEREAS a General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the
City of Azusa, Los Angeles County, State of California, on Tuesday,
,the 11th day of April, 1944 as required by law, and
WHEREAS it appears that Notice of said Election was duly and legally
given and that there weretwo voting Precincts established for said
Election consisting of Consolidation of regular City Precincts for
holding State and County Elections as the same were and are established
by the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County, C alifornia; that
election officials were appointed and election supplies furnished and
that in all respects said election was held and conducted and the
' returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the
General Laws of the State of California governing elections in cities
of the fifth and sixth classes; and
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Azusa met at the Council
Chambers of said Council on Tuesday the 18th day of April, 1944, to
canvass the returns of said election and install the newly elected
officers. Whereupon the said Council found that the number of votes
cast, the names of the persons voted for, the result of said election
and other matters required by law, to be as hereinafter stated.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AND DECLARED
as follows:
That said regular Municipal Election was held and conducted in the
City of Azusa, California, on Tuesday the 11th day of April, 1944,
in the time, form and manner as required by law.
That there were two voting precincts established for the purpose of
holding said election consisting of a consolidation of the regular
Election Precincts established for holding General State and
County Elections.
That the whole number of votes cast in said City of Azusa at said
' election was 800.
That the names of the persons voted for, the offices for which they
were voted, and the number of votes which were received in the entire
City of Azusa are as follows:

said persons so elected as Members of the City Council, City Clerk
and City Treasurer of said City and shall have them subscribe thereto
and file the same in her office; thereupon, each and all of said

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND DETERMINED that at said
General Municipal
Election, Harry D. Jumper was elected to the office
of Member of the
City Council of the City of Azusa, California, for
the full term of
four years; also that Louis G. Memmesheimer was elected
to the office
of Member of the City Council of the City of Azusa,
California, for
the full term of four years; also that Raymond J. Lamm, was elected
to the office of Member of the City Council of the
City of Azusa,
California, for the short term of two years; also that
Mae A. Hynes
was elected to the office of City Clerk of the City
of Azusa,

California, for the full term of four years; also that
Thomas L.
Munson was elected to the office of City Treasurer
of the City of
Azusa, California, for the full term of four years;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall immediately make

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was regularly adopted
by the City Council of the City of Azusa at a regular adjourned meet-
ing of said Council held in the regular Council Chambers of s aid City
Council in said City on April 180 1944, and that the same was passed
by the following vote of the Council:
AYES: Councilmen: Lamm,
NOES: Councilmen: None.
ABSENT: Councilmen: Owens.

City Clerk of the City of Azusa
Mae a. Hynes, City Clerk, immediately took, subscribed and filed the
Constitutional oath of office as required by law.
The Council Elect, Harry D. Jumper, Louis G. Memmesheimer and Raymond
J. Lamm took, subscribed and filed the constitutional oath of office,
as required by law.
Thomas L. Munson, the City Treasurer, took, subscribed and filed the
constitutional oath of office as required by law.
' Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Jumper that Raymond
J. Lamm be nominated Mayor of the City of Azusa.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden.
Noes; None. Absent: Councilman Owens. Councilman Lamm not voting.
Thereupon Mayor Lamm took the chair and addressed Council, expressing
his confidence in the members of Council and their desire to render
full support and cooperation in matters dealing with thew elfare
of the City.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Cguncilman Morden and duly
carried the City Clerk be instructed to write Councilman Owens, offering
Council's best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery.
A letter of resignation, signed by James Rogers; Jr., was read and
ordered placed on file.
Superintendent Smith addressed Council relative to the high line
extension required to serve the Polymer Plant.
Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer, the
Mayor be authorized and directed to sign a requisition for the purchase
of a transformer, the cost not to exceed seven hundred dollars.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens.
Mr. Bradshaw addressed Council expressing his appreciation for
cooperation given him by members of Council, and City Employees.
Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer
and duly carried, Council adjourn.
