The City Council of the City of Azusa met in
regular session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper,
Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm, City Attorney
Tscharner, and City Clerk.
Absent: Councilman Owens.
Each member present acknowledged receipt of
a written copy of the minutes of the regular
meeting of May 15, 1944. The Mayor asked
if there were any objections or corrections
to said minutes. There being none, the
minutes of May 15, 1944, were approved as
written.
The City Clerk announced she had received
one sealed Bid in answer to Notice Calling
for Bids on a truck for use in the Street
Department.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by
Councilman Morden, this Bid now be opened,
examined and publicly declared.

Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by
Councilman Memmesheimer, the City accept the
Bid of the Drew Carriage Company.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer,
Morden, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens.
Lohn Lund addressed Council relative to the
construction of a garage on the rear of a lot.
City Attorney Tscharner advised him to make
application in manner prescribed by Ordinance
No. 342.
An invitation to attend a dinner in Monrovia,
offered by the Disabled Veterans, Inc., was
read and ordered placed on file.
Councilman Morden requested a leave of absence.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by
Councilman Memmesheimer, this request be
granted.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer,
Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens.

Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Council-
man Memmesheimer, the Mayor and City Clerk be
authorized and instructed to sign the annual
contract between the City of Azusa and the Los
Angeles County Health Department.
Carried by the following vote of the Council: MAYOR AND CITY CLER
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, AUTHORIZED TO SIGN
Morden, Lamm. CONTRACT.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens.
Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Council-
man Memmesheimer, the Mayor and City Clerk be
' authorized and instructed to sign a contract
between the City of Azusa and the American MAYOR AND CITY
Cyanamid Corporation. CLERK AUTHORIAZED
Carried by the following vote of the Council: TO SIGN CONTRACT.
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer,
Morden, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens.
Councilman Jumper offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA,
AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF THE SUM OF RESOLUTION NO.1823
$500.00 BY SAID CITY OF AZUSA FOR MUSIC AND ADOPTED.

Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Council-
man Memmesheimer this Resolution be adopted as
read and numbered Resolution No. 1823.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Morden, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens.
Councilman Jumpercoffered a Resolution entitled:
' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT FOR THE RESOLUTION NO.1824
PURCHASE BY THE CITY OF AZUSA OF THE STATE'S ADOPTED.
TAX DEEDED PROPERTY.
Mw ed by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by
Councilman Jumper, this Resolution be adopted
as read and numbered Resolution No. 1824.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer,
Lamm.
Noes: Councilman Morden. Absent: Council-
man Owens.
Fire Chief Rogers was requested by the Mayor JAMES ROGERS, JR.
to continue to act'as such officer until his TO CONTINUE AS
successor was appointed. FIRE CHIEF.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by
Councilman Memmesheimer, the following req-
uisitions be allowed: 1855 to 1862 inclusive
1792 to 1800 inclusive. REQUISITIONS
