The City Council of the City of Azusa met as a Board of Equalization at the above time and place. ROLL CALL Present at roll,call: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Absent: None. Mayor Lamm asked if anyone present wished to protest the assessed valuation placed on the City of Azusa Rolls. NO PROTESTS There was no response. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Jumper that the board adjourn sine die and reconvene as a.City Council. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes:.Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Morden offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF THESA* LOS OFFICE OF ANGELES CHIEFCOFNTYs POLICELVACANTAANDECLARING APPOINT ' RESOLUTION ING MILO T. HAWKINS TO THE OFFICE OF CHIEF OF N0. 1829 POLICE AND FIXING HIS SALARY, ALSO APPOINTING ADOPTED FRED E. WILLIAMS TO THE OFFICE OF CAPTAIN OF POLICE AND FIXING HIS SALARY. Moved by Mayor Lamm, seconded by Councilman Morden this resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1829. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Mr. M. E. Salsbury, Acting Chief Engineer for the Loa Angeles County F166d Control District, requested permission.to.excavate the channel COUNTY GRANTED under the Azusa Avenue bridge. PERMISSION TO Moved by Councilman Memme'sheimer, seconded by EXCAVATE THE Councilman Owens permission be granted. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man -Owens the City purchase a gasoline jack- hammer at a total coat of $418.25. Mr. Hawkins addressed Council relative to the purchase of salvage covers. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council- man Jumper the'City purchase 5 salvage covers SALVAGE COVERS for use in the -Fire Dept. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Mrs. Taylor requested payment of $10.00 on an MRS TAYLOR'S ambulance call.. I I REQUEST REFERRED Moved and carried same be referred to the City Attorney.
