Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm, City Attorney, Tscharner and City Clerk. Absent: None. ROLL CALL Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of July 17, 1944. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of July 17, 1944 were approved as written. A Summary of Azusa's Contractual Relationship with the Los Angeles County Health Department, prepared by A. J. Messier, Business Manager for the Health Department, was read. It was unanimously agreed this repout be placed on file for future reference. An invitation to attend the League dinner to be held in the Oakmont Country Club, Glendale, was read. Councilman Jumper offered an Ordinance entitled: MINUTES APPROVED CONTRACT WITH COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTICNS 39 6, 350 37, and 46 AND RENfJMBERING SECTIONS 48 OF ORDINANCE NO. 154 OF SAID CITY OF AZUSA ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA PROVIDING A SYSTEM FOR THE ASSESSMENT, LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES" PASSED THE 24th DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1914, AND THAT THERE BE ADDED TO SAID ORDINANCE NO. 154 NEW SECTIONS TO BE KNOWN AS SECTIONS 36a, 46a, 47 and 48. AND ALSO AMENDING SECTIONS 30 and 33 AND REPEALING SECTION 46 OF SAID ORDINANCE NO. 154 AS AMENDED BY SECTIONS 49 5, and 6 OF ORDINANCE NO. 159 OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AMENDING SECTIONS 15, 28, 29, 30, 33 and 46 OF ORDINANCE NO. 154 OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF AZUSA ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AZUSA PROVIDING A SYSTEM FOR THE ASSESSMENT, LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES', PASSED THE 24th DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1914." to be placed upon its second reading. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer Council waive the further reading of_ the Ordinance. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: Councilman Morden. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer this Ordinance be adopted as read and numbered Ordinance No. 377. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: Councilman Morden. Absent: None. Councilman Jumper reported on meeting held by League ' of California Cities relative to Post War Planning. It was unanimously agreed this matter be discussed at the next regular meeting of Council. The Street Superintendent presented the request of the American Cyanamid and Chemical Corp. for use of the Shovel for a few months. It was unanimously agreed this matter be referred to Councilman Owens and Street Supt. Wolfe. Mr. F. M. Robinson, City Auditor, addressed Council relative to the financial Report for the fiscal year 1943-44. Councilman Jumper offered a Resolution entitled: ORDINANCE NO. 377 ADOPTED COUNCILMAN JUMPER REPORTED ON MEETING. RENTAL OF SHOVEL REFERRED TO COUNCILMAN OVENE, AND STREET SUPERINTENDENT UHHX _ _ _ CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, MONDAY, AUGUST 7; 1944 A RESOLUTION OF --THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AGREEMENTS WITH JOHN F. BENDER FOR THE PURPOSE OF REHABILITATING TAX DEEDED AND SPECIAL ASSESSMENT FROZEN PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1832. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: Councilman Morden. Absent: None. Mr. Smith, Supt. of Light and Water, addressed Council relative to the removal of paint from Street Lamps. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Morden the following requisitions be allowed: 1880, 18811 1882, 18839 1884, 1885, 1886, 1887, 1888, 1933, 19359 1936, 19379 1939, 1940, 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950, L.W. 1, L.W. 2, L. W. 3, L.W. 4, L.W. 5, L.W. 6, L.W. 7. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None.
