Pres@nt at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm, City Attorney Tscharner, ROLL CALL and City Clerk. Absent: None. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of August 7, 1944. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of MINUTES AP - August 7, 1944 were approved as written. PROVED A communication from Stewart Mfg. Co. relative to the ' order for roller screens for the City Hall windows COMMUNICATION was read. RELATIVE TO It was unanimously agreed not to cancel the order in ROLLER SCREENS view of the fact that war priorities have perference over non-priority jobs. Councilman Memmesheimer, representing the Youth Program Committee, invited members of Council to attend a dinner on August 29, 1944. City Attorney Tscharner presented a letter from the POST TAR League of California Cities relative to Post War PLANNING Planning. Mayor Lamm appointed Councilman Jumper, Engineer COMMITTEE TO ' Kressly and Superintendent Smith to check the cost CHECK COST OF of enlarging and improving the Azusa Water System REPAIRS ETC. and to report back. Councilman Owens reported the American Cyanamid and Chemical Corporation would not require the use of the shovel. Councilman Morden offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AN EXCEPTION OR VARIANCE UNDER SECTION 16 OF ORDINANCE NO. 342 IN FAVOR OF EGGLESTONE & ROOT, SUCCESSORS OF RESOLUTION VOSBURG BROTHERS, INCORPORATED APPLICABLE TO A NO. 1834 PORTION OF LOT 71 SUBDIVISION NO. 2 AZUSA LAND AND ADOPTED. WATER COMPANY.
