SUBMITTED TO THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS OF TEE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF 1/4 -CENT 1839 ADOPTED. GAS TAX ON STREETS OF MAJOR IMPORTANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 1945 WITHIN THE CITY OF AZUSA. Moved by Councilman. Morden, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1839. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Jumper. Councilman Jumper entered the meeting and took his seat at the Council table. ' A communication signed by Cornelius Smith, Secretary RECOMMENDATION of the Local Planning Commission, recommending a OFFERED BY request of the Azusa Rock & Sand Co. for a variance PLANNING in zoning of Lots 29 and 47 of Sub. #2 Azusa Land & COMMISSION Water Company be granted, was read. EXCEPTION, VARIANCE AND RECLASSIFICATION UNDER ORDIN- ANCE NO. 342, IN FAVOR OF AZUSA ROCK & SAND CO. 1840 ADOPTED. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1840. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. It was unanimously agreed the City Attorney contact the Pacific Electric Railway Company and request the improvement of all crossings within the City Limits. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Owens the statement rendered by the Los Angeles County PAYMENT OF Tax Collector in the sum of 097.35, cost of giving SUM OF $97.35 notice of a contemplated sale of certain tax deeded AUTHORIZED. lands and cost of postage, be paid and the City Clerk authorized to issue demand made payable to Los Angeles County Tax Collector for said amount. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilman: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Mayor Lamm appointed Councilman Owens a committee of one to check on all equipment used for Civilian COUNCILMAN Defense and to report back. Moved and carried Council approve the action of the oWENS To CHECK EQUIPMENT Mayor. RUBBISH TABLED. The matter of Fire Department change -over and the installation of a two-way radio for the Police Department was discussed. ORANGE AVE. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Council: Memmesheimer Superintendant Smith be authorized to SUPT. SMITH make application to the War Price and Rationing AUTHORIZED TO Board for the purchase of automatic Electric PURCHASE Equipment for City Pumps.
