Absent: Councilman Morden. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of January 2, 1945. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to MINUTES APPROVED said minutes. There being none, the minutes of Jan- uary 2, 1945 were approved as written. ' A communication from Royal Insurance Company relative to Insurance on City Pumps was read. INSURANCE ON DUMPS It was unanimously agreed this matter be referred to REFERRED TO COUNCIL Councilman Jumper to report back. MAN JUMPER Ll Chief of Police Hawkins recommended that Patrolman Frank,H. Smith be removed from the Police Department, stating his reason. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- man Owens the Chief's recommendation be accepted. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden. The Clerk announced that two bids had been received in answer to Notice Calling for Bids on Gasoline. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer the bids be now opened, examined and publicly declared. The City Clerk stated that bids for the purchase of City owned property had been received, following which it was moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Jumper and carried that the bids be open- ed and publicly declared. The City Clerk thereupon opened said bids and the same were read by John F. Bender, Special City Attorney, and publicly declared.
