The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper,
Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm, City Attorney Miller and
Deputy City Clerk. Absent: None.
Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written
copy of the minutes of March 5, 1945. The Mayor ask-
ed if there were any objections or corrections to said
minutes. There being none, the minutes of March 5, 1945
were approved as written.
'The'Deputy City Clerk stated that a written bid for
the purchase of City owned real property had been
received, following which it was moved by Councilman
Jumper, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer and carried,
the bid be opened and publicly declared. The Deputy
City Clerk thereupon opened the bid and the sane was
read by City Attorney Tscharner and publicly declared.
The Bid was as follows:

Owens 1 & 2 Pasadena Tract
Thereupon the above mentioned Bid for the Purchase of
City owned real property was publicly declared by
Attorney Tscharner. Mr. Tscharner then asked for oral
bids on said piece of property. There were none.
Thereupon said written bid was duly considered by
Council and the said described offer for City owned
real property was duly and regularly accepted pursuant
to Resolution number as hereinafter shown, the said
bid being made upon cash basis and the hereinafter
numbered Resolution being entitled as follows:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BID, QUITCLAIM DEED ONLY, TO
CITY OWNED REAL PROPERTY.

Plattfs Pasadena Tract $275.00
Said Resolution was offered by Councilman Morden,
Its adoption was moved by Councilman Jumper,
seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer, and darried
by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Owens Not
toting.
Attorney Tscharner offered a Resolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY AND
SPECIAL CITY ATTORNEY TO CLEAR TITLE TO CITY 0WNED
REAL PROPERTY THEREIN DESCRIBED.
'Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council-
man'Owens the Resolution be adopted as read and
numbered Resolution Number 1882.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden,
Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Mr. John D. Fitzgerald and Mr. George A. Burt Both
applicants for taxicab business license in City of
Azusa were present at meeting.. In as much as Mr.
Burt did not have all the necessary clearance papers
it was moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Council-
man Morden that the matter be referred to the Police
Commission, Chief of Police and Attorney Miller with
power to act and to report their decision at next

A communication from Aerojet Engineering Corpora-
tion in regard to City Taxes on Aerojet property
was read.
Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman
Jumper that the matter be referred to City Attorney
Miller.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

A communication from Julius L. Ott in regard to
changing his property from lots to acreage, was
read.
Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman
Memmesheimer that Mr. Ott be referred to City
Engineer of Azusa.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer,
Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None.
City Engineer Kressly presented a resolution which
was read and offered by Councilman Jumper entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND
CONVENIENCE REQUIRE THAT CERTAIN PORTIONS OF SANTA
FE AVENUE, ELEVENTH STREET, ANGELENO AVENUE,
SUNSET AVENUE, ORANGE AVENUE, AND VISTA BONITA
AVENUE WITHIN THE SAID'CITY BE RESURFACED FROM GAS
TAX FUNDS ALLOCATED BY LOS ANGELES COUNTY TO SAID
CITY FOR"THE 1944-45 FISCAL YEAR.
' Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Council-
man Owens the Resolution be adopted as read and
numbered Resolution humber 1883.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer,
Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman Owens presented the sketches and estimat-
ed cost of shed to be located at City of Azusa
Sewage Treatment Plant. '
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Owens that plans be accepted and the construction
referred to Councilman Owens with power to act.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer,
Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Councilman Owens brought to attention the fact that
the tank behind the Holden Property has not as yet
had any trees planted or landscaping done around it.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council-
man Morden that Councilman Owens be put in charge
of this matter with power to act.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Morden, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman
Owens, that $50.00 be appropriated to the Red
Cross in furtherance of the cause, making it charge-
able to the Promotion of Civic Welfare Fund.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer,
Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman
Owens that a sum not to exceed $500.00 is authoriz-
ed to be expended by the Superintendent of Light
Department for the meter testing equipment.

Owens that the matter of disposal of old motorcycle
and the purchase of a new motorcycle be referred to
the Police Commission and Chief of Police with the
power to act.,

man Jumper the following bills be allowed and warrants
ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same.
