The City Council of the City of Azusa met 2n a regular
adjourned session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper,
Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm, City Attorney Miller and
Deputy City Clerk. Absent: None.
The City Engineer submitted the following report
on Bids for 3200 tons Plant -mixed surfacing: "Since
the Pacific Rock and Gravel Company is the lowest
regular, responsible bidder, I recommend that the
contract be awarded to said Company. The City Clerk
' should be instructed to return the certified or
cashier's checks accompanying the bids of the
unsuccessful bidders, but to retain the check of the
Pacific Rock and Gravel Company until delivery of
materials has been completed."
Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman
Morden that the report and recommendations of the
City Engineer be accepted.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden,
Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Mayor Lamm reported for the Architect, Mr. Powell,
on the bids submitted and read on April 16, 1945 for
alterations and additions to the present City Hall
Building. Mr. Powell recommended that George Dever,
being the lowest responsible bidder, be granted the
contract.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council-
man Jumper that Mr. Powell►s recommendations be
accepted.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Cwens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm.
Noes: Councilman: Morden. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council-
man Jumper the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized
and instructed to sign, on behalf of the City, a
contract drawn substantially and in conformity with
standard form, between the City of Azusa and George
Dever, also that a Faithful Performance Bond and
Certificate of Insurance be executed and approved by
the Architect and the Deputy City Clerk be instruct-
ed to return to unsuccessful bidders the bonds
submitted with their bids.

Ayes: Councilman: Owens, Jumper, Memmeshiemer, Lamm.
Noes: Councilman: Morden. Absent: None.
It was moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council-
man Morden that Chief of Police Milo T. Hawkins be
sent to Monterey California, at expense of City, to the
,Annual Joint Meeting of the California Police Radio
,Associatiftn and the Northern California Police
Communication Officers Association being held May 11
and 12,' 1945.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden,
Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None.
' A motion made by Councilman Memmesh4lmer, seconded by
Councilman Owens, that the matter of subdividing of
eleven (11).lots extending North from Paramount Avenue
and facing Azusa Avenue on the West,submitted to
Council by Planning Commission for Mr. M. W. Findley,
be referred to the City Engineer for study and make
recommendation to the City Council:
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden,
Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None.
Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman
Jumper, and duly carried Council adjourn.
