Present at roll call: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm, City Attorney, Tscharner and Deputy City Clerk. Absent: Councilmen: Owens. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of regular meeting of April 16, 1945 and the adjourned meeting of April 23, 1945. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of April 16, 1945 and April 23, 1945 were approved as written. It was moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Councilman Jumper the Deputy City Clerk be instruct- ed to write a letter to Councilman Owens, expressing their regrets as to his absence due to illness. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Ndes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. A'letter addressed to the Azusa City Council from the Azusa Youth Program Committee was read and referred to Attorney Tscharner. Councilman Morden offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA TRANSFERRING FROM THE WATER RESERVE FUND TO THE WATER BOND 1914 INTEREST AND REDEMPTION FUND FOURTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1400.00) AND TRANSFERRING FROM THE LIGHT RESERVE FUND TO THE ELECTRIC BOND INTEREST AND REDEMPTION FUND THE SUM OF EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTY DOLLARS ($860.00). Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman ' Memmesheimer this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1886. Carried'by following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. Aletter addressed to the Honorable Mayor and City Council of City of Azusa from Paul E. Kressly, City Engineer, in the matter of the request of 0. W. Findley for resubdivision of Lots 3 and 4 of Subdivision No. 1, Azusa Land and Water Company was read and it was unanimously agreed no action be taken in this"matter until Mr. Findley and City Engineer Kressly work out certain proposed improvements. Councilman Memmesheimer offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY':;. CALIFORNIA AMENDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 1885 OF SAID CITY. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Jumper this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1887. ' Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer, that beginning May 1, 1945 James String- fellow be paid for Janitor work while attending Meetings in the City Auditorium, exclusive of City Councili~meetings, at the same hourly rate as his present salary amounts to, figured on an hourly basis. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. It was moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Council- man Memmesheimer that Leora Shuck be appointed Assistant Clerk in Light and Water Department at salary of $175.00 211 212 CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, MAY 7, 1945 7:30 P.M. per month effective as of May 150 1945. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. Councilman Jumper offered a resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS -ANGELES COUITTY, CALIFORNIA AMENDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 1628 OF SAID CITY. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- man Morden this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1888. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer the following requisitions be allowed: 2086-2088-2089-2090-L.W.132-L.W.133-L.W.134-L.W.135- L.W.136-L.W.137-L.W.138-L.W139-L.W.140-L.W.141- L':W:142-L.W.143-L.W.144-L.W.145. Carried by the following vote of the council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Memmesheimer the following bills be allowed and warrants ordered drawn upon the Treasury for same. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Owens.
