Martin, Manager of the Rheim Manufacturing Company, addressed Council relative to the erection of a frame building, fronting on Motor Avenue for the purpose of conducting experimental tests on a jet engine. The Mayor explained to Mr. Martin this matter would first have to be taken up with the Planning Commission and Council would then act upon their recommendation. RHEIM MAY-UFACTLTRING COMPANY REQUESTED PERMISSION TO ERECT BUILDING Mr. George M. Bartlett addressed Council relative to ' a Subdivision designated as Tract No. 13459 also the GEORGE M. BARTLETT erection of dwellings in an M-1 Zone. SUBDIVISION NO. Mr. Bartlett was directed to take this matter up with 13459 the City Engineer. A petition for Zone Variance, filed by the Aerojet Corporation, together with a letter recommending this request be granted, was offered by Cornelius Smith, Secretary of the Local Planning Commission. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Jumper Council accept the recommendation of the Planning Commission. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Councilman Memmesheimer offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZTISA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 1828 AND FIXING THE SALARIES OF CERTAIN CITY EMPLOYEES. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Jumper this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered ' Resolution No. 1900. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- man Jumper that the Communication from John F. Bender dated June 20, 1945 with reference to the property located in Paramount Heights Tract of the City of Azusa be received and filed and contents thereof approved and the Clerk be instructed to attach same to the existing Contract now on file between the City of Azusa and John F. Bender. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: Councilman Morden. Absent: None. PETITION FOR ZONE VARIA?ICE GRANTED AEROJECT CORP. RESOLUTION NO.1900 ADOPTED JOHN F. BENDER CONTRACT ON PARAMOUNT HEIGHTS TRACT 235 CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, MONDAY JULY 16, 1945 7:30 P.M. The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular session at the above time and place. Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm, City Attorney Tscharner ROLL CALL and City Clerk. Absent: None. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of July 2, 1945. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of July 2, MINUTES APPROVED 1945 were approved as written. An application to operate a taxi service in Azusa was ' offered by Richard J. Wade. No action taken. APPLICATION FOR PERMIT TO OPERATE Five copies of Change Order No. 2 for the City Hall A TAXI SERVICE Alterations was presented by the firm of tviarsh, Smith and Powell. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Jumper the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign CHANGE ORDER same and forward one copy to Mr. Powell and two AUTHORIZED copies to Mr. Dever. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Owens this matter be referred to Councilman Memmesheimer and Chief Hawkins, with power to act.
