Present at roll call: Councilmen: Juniper, Morden, Memmesheimer, Lamm, City Attorney Tscharner and City ROLL CALL Clerk. Absent: Councilman Owens. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of August 20, 1945. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to MINUTES AP - said minutes. There being none, the minutes of PROVED August 20, 1945 were approved as written. ' A request, signed by A.L. bleier, to purchase a used office desk, was read. CITY TO RETAIN It was unanimously agreed Council not offer the desks DESKS USED BY used by the 1Var Price and Rationin- Board, for sale. RATIONING BOARD An invitation to attend the celebration September 15 and 16 offered by the Secretary of the INVITATION Commission Honorifica I4exicana was read and ordered ACCEPTED placed on file. Councilman Jumper offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CCUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, LE`•IYING TAXES AND FIXING THE RATE OF ALL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY FOR ALL RESOLUTION NO. MUNICIPAL PURPOSES AND TO PAY THE BONDED ITTDEBTEDNESS 1910 ADOPTED AND INTEREST ON TIIE SAI.IE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1945- 1946. A letter from the Planning Commission relative to a variance on property located on Azusa Avenue describ- ed as Lots #26 to 31 and the North 5 feet of Lot 32 in Block 28 owned by A. L. Suman and recommending that pottery made in the building need not necessarily be sold on the premises and the motor power be altered to meet the requirements of the factory, was read. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- man Jumper the recommendation of the Planning Commission be accepted. The City Clerk announced 3 bids were received in answer to Notice Calling for Bids for Transformers. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- man Morden the Bids be now opened, examined and publicly declared.
