Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, ROLL CALL Memmesheimer, Lamm, City Attorney Tscharner and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Morden. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written dopy of the minutes of September 17, 1945. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to MINUTES said minutes. There being none, the minutes of Sept- APPROVED ember 17, 1945 were approved as written. ' Mr. Steve Johnson addressed Council relative to the erection and maintenance of a museum. Mayor Lamm S. JOHNSON advised Mr. Johnson Council would consider this ADDRESSED matter at a later date. COUNCIL RE- LATIVE TO The application of Roy C. Arnold for a Zone Variance MUSEUM was offered. Mr. Smith, Secretary of the Local Planning Commission advised Council the Planning Commission recommended the variance be granted. Councilman Owens offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AN EXCEPTION AND VARIANCE UNDER ORDINANCE NUMBER 342 AND RESOLUTION APPLICABLE TO LOTS 15 AND 16 IN BLOCK 37 IN SAID CITY NO. 1916 OF AZUSA. ADOPTED Mr. E. S. Gripper, District City Projects Engineer with the Division of Highways requested the erection INSTALLATION of a railroad advance warning sign at the inter- OF WARNING section of Azusa Avenue and the A.T. & S.F.R.R. SIG11 REFER - Crossing. RED TO CITY It was unanimously agreed Council refer this matter ENGINEER to the City Engineer with power to act. Councilman Jumper, City Engineer Kressly, and V. D. Smith reported on Bids submitted for the purchase of Transformers. Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman CITY CLERK Owens the City Clerk be authorized and instructed INSTRUCTED TO ' to return all bid checks submitted by Westinghouse RETURN CHECKS Electric Company and General Electric Company. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden. Mr. Leland Poage addressed Council relative to the condition of the Dalton Wash due to flood water damage. FLOOD WATER It was unanimously greed a DAMAGE RE - the matter be referred to FERRED TO the City Attorney. CITY A TTORNEY Mr. Nicholas Abdelnour addressed Council relative to the purchase of property situated on west Foothill Blvd. No action taken. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- man Jumper the Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution Number 1916. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden. ' E. A. Gilson offered a petition for a zone variance accompanied by a recommendation from the Planning ZONING Commission that Council grant the request. VARIANCE Moved by Councilman Jumper seconded by Councilman 'GRANTrD MR. Memmesheimer Council approve the recommendation of GILSON the Planning Commission.
