Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Morden, Lamm, City attorney Miller and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Memmesheimer. ROLL CALL Each member present acknowledged receipt of a wtitten copy of the minutes of meeting of December 3rd and the adjourned meeting of December 10, 1945. MINUTES APPROVED The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the ' minutes of December 3rd and December 10, 1945 were approved as written. A petition, with 56 names attached thereto was presented to Council protesting the noise and tremors caused by explosions at the Aerojet Engineering Corporation Plant. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Owens the petition be referred to the City Attorney. PETITION FILED Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Memmesheimer. The Clerk announced that no bids were received in answer to Notice Calling for Bids on used Dodge motors. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman SALE OF OLD DODGE Morden this matter be referred to the Chairman of MOTORS REFERRED TO Purchasing and Finance Committees with power to act. CHAIRMAN OF Carried by the following vote of the Council: PURCHASING COMMITTEE Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Memmesheimer. City Engineer Kressly recommended that the tentative Map of Tract 13736 be tentatively approved ' with the condition that certain changes which he recommended, be incorporated into the final Map of the Subdivision. MAP OF TRACT No. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman 13736 TENTATIVELY Jumper the recommendations of the City Engineer APPROVED relative to the Subdivision known as Tract No. 13736 be'approved, also the Subdivider, Mr. Penn Phillips, be'instructed to change the Plan so as to provide for a twenty foot alley instead of a ten foot ease- ment shown on the Plan, it being understood that the Subdivider would not be required to pave the alley but only to rough grade it, and also, that the Tentative Plan be tentatively approved subject to the making of the change from easement to alley ordered by Council. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Morden;: Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Memmesheimer. A communication from the City Planning Commission recommending that Mrs. Cora Dail Codington be NIRS CODINGTON granted a variance to erect four three-room apart- GRANTED VARIANCE ments on Lots 13 and 14, Block I, Azusa Heights Tract, was read. 'On motion made by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Jumper it was resolved that a variance be granted to Mrs. Cora Dail Codington for the erection of four - Three-room apartments on Lots 13 and 142 Block I, Azusa Heights Tract as recommended by the Planning Commission. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Memmesheimer. Councilman Memmesheimer entered the meeting and took his seat at the Council table. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Council- TP- CITY HALL, AZUSA, CALIFORNIA, MONDAY, DECEMBER 17; 1945 7:30 P.M. 299 man Jumper the Special Committee on Purchasing be authorized to purchase an auto car or other suitable truck for use in the Water and Light Departments PURCHASING COMMITTE. The matter of rules, regulations and charges made by the Southern Counties Gas Company to industries was discussed. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman ' Owens the matter of gas service to industries be referred to the City Attorney to report back. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. .Noes: None. Absent: None. Manuel'Guerrera addressed Council relative to the condition of the old Fire Hall and the possibility of members of the Youth Groups occupying it. Councilman Jumper reported that tentative plans for remodeling the Hall had been submitted to the Los Angeles County Building Department for checking and that he hoped to have a definite report to make to Council at the next regular meeting. Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Owens the following requisitions be allowed: 2199-2200- 2201-2202-2203-2204-2205-2206-2207-2208-2209-2210- L.W.226-227-228-2.29-230-231-2312-233-234. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Morden, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: None. GAS SERVICE TO ITTUSTRIES REFERRED TO -CITY, ATTORNEY OLD FIRE HALL TO BE REMODELFD RECUISITIONS Moved by Councilman Morden, seconded by Councilman Owens, the following Bills be allowed and warrants ' ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same.
