Present at roll Call: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm, City Attorney Miller and City Clerk. Absent: Councilman Morden. Each member present acknowledged receipt of a written copy of the minutes of December 17, 1945. The Mayor asked if there were any objections or corrections to said minutes. There being none, the minutes of December 17, 1945 were approved as written. 'Maps of Tract No. 13,824 and No. 13,790 were present- ed to Council. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Jumper the maps of subdivision No. 13,824 and Sub- division No. 13,790 be referred to the City Engineer and Planning Commission for examination and report. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Jumper that Council approve the map of Subdivision Tract No. 13,736 subject to the approval and signature of the City Engineer,and in the event of the approval of the City Engineer, the City Clerk and City Treasurer be authorized and,instructed to affix their signatures thereto. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden. Notification of alcoholic beverage license applications to State Board of Equalization made by Aurelio De La Cruz, Carl J. Stokke and Rose Torres, were presented. 'No action taken. The Building Inspector requested Council to rescind the City Ordinance adopting the Los Angeles Building Code and adopt the new 1945 edition of the Los Angeles County Building Code. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- man Owens this matter be referred to the City Attorney to report back at the next regular meeting of Council. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden. Councilman Owens offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA EMPLOYING FRED G. BECKER AS OPERATOR OF THE DISPOSAL PLANT AND FIXING HIS SALARY. Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman Jumper this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1929. Carried by the following vote of the Council: 'Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council- man Jumper the Building Inspector and City Treasurer be authorized to move into the new office room in the west wing of the building; to share the office space provided there and if this arrangement does not meet with the approval of the City Treasurer he is to remain in the office he now occupies. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden. ' Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Mayor Lamm, that said variance be granted in accordance with the recommendation of the City Planning Commission. Councilman Memmesheimer offered a Resolution entitled: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA, LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, GRANTING AN EXCEPTION AND VARIANCE AS TO THE SOUTH EAST TWO ACRES IN LOT NO. 46, SUBDIVISION NO. 2 AZUSA LAND AND WATER COMPANY. Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Mayor Lamm this Resolution be adopted as read and numbered Resolution No. 1930. Carried by the following vote of the Council: Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm. Noes: None. Absent: Councilmen Morden. The City Clerk stated that bids for the purchase of City owned property had been received, following which it was moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, second- ed by Councilman Owens, and carried that the bids be opened and publicly declared. The City Clerk there- upon opened said bids and the same were read by John F. Bender, Special City Attorney, and publicly declared.
