The City Council of the City of Azusa met in regular
session at the above time and place.
Present at roll call: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper,
Memmesheimer, Lamm, City Attorney'Miller and City
Clerk. Absent: Councilman Morden.
Council discussed the plans for remodeling the old
Fire Hall.
No action taken.
The map of Tract No. 13790 was presented to Council
by Mr. Phillips and Mr. Meier.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council-
man Jumper the map of subdivision Tract No. 13,790 be
approved upon the express condition that a written
contract be drawn and approved by the City Engineer
wherein the Subdivider agrees to lay and pay the cost
of the extension westerly of the 6" line on the South
side of Foothill Boulevard to the West line of the
Subdivision also the cost of a 611 line along the
Northerly line of Foothill Boulevard from the center
line of Virginia Avenue westerly to the West line of
the subdivision also pay the cost of furnishing,
laying pipe lines of the size and in the location
requested by the City Engineer within the Tract.

Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden.
A letter from the Azusa Baptist Men's Council signed
by Frank Tarble, President requesting Council to sell
the old Fire Hall Building and use the proceeds of
the sale to erect a new community recreation building
on the grounds of the Memorial Park, was read.
No action taken in this matter.
' Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council-
man Jumper the City Clerk be authorized and directed
to draw a warrant made to John F. Bender on the Tax
deeded Fund in the amount of $202.20 in payment of
expense on Quiet Title Action.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden.
Councilman Owens offered a riesolution entitled:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AZUSA, DECLARING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST, NECESSITY,
AND CONVENIENCE REQUIRE THAT RIGHTS OF WAY BE
APPROPRIATED OVER CERTAIN PORTIONS OF PROPERTY OWNED
BY SAID CITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING OPERATr
ING AND MAINTAINING PUBLIC UTILITIES IN, OVER, UNDER,
AND ALONG THE SAME.
Moved by Councilman Jumper, seconded by Councilman
Memmesheimer this Resolution be adopted as read and
numbered Resolution Number 1968.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden.
A communication, from Assemblyman Ernest R. Geddes,
relative to Assembly Bill 60, was read.
No action taken in this matter.
Councilman Owens offered a Resolution entitled:
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AZUSA,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING DEED.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council-
man Jumper the Resolution be adopted as read and
numbered Resolution Number 1969.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:

Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council-
man Owens the Street Superintendent be authorized
and directed to rent a cat and carryall fully operated
for a period of time not to exceed ten days.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden.
Councilman Owens reported on the condition of .the
flood control wash where it crosses First Street.
It was unanimously agreed this matter be referred to
the City Engineer to report back.
Councilman Owens reported that the tree planting
project was almost completed.
Moved by Councilman Owens, seconded by Councilman
Memmesheimer and duly carried the City Clerk be
instructed to write Mr. A. E. Howland of #2730
South Alameda Avenue, Los Angeles, California
expressing Councilst appreciation for his splendid
work in furnishing the plans on remodeling the old
Fire Hall.
Chief Hawkins reported, the Aeroject Corporation had
assured him they would install a muffler on the wind
tunnel to eliminate the noise which has caused
annoyance to people residing in the Southwest portion
of the'City.
Moved by Councilman Memmeshiemer, seconded by Council-
man Owens the following requisitions be allowed: 2211-
2212-2213-2214-2215-2216-2217-2218-2219-2223-2224-
2225-2226-2227-2228-2229-L.W.235-236-237-238-239-240-
242-243-244-245-246-247-248-249.
Carried by the following vote of the Council:
Ayes: Councilmen: Owens, Jumper, Memmesheimer, Lamm.
Noes: None. Absent: Councilman Morden.
Moved by Councilman Memmesheimer, seconded by Council-
man Owens the following Bills be allowed and warrants
ordered drawn upon the Treasury for the same.
